You could buy a an old style PSP with a 16Gb memory stick for a price nowhere near what the PSP will be costing upon release. But then what are handhelds if they aren't smaller than they were last year?
(Answer: The exact same console, just closer to fitting comfortably in your pocket.)

I don't like it, I've played one and its too small..
The buttons are to jammed together, tiny screen and lack of UMD drive
I'll be sticking with my 1000 unless it breaks (hope not) then I'd get a 3000 to replace it

I heard a rumoured announcment that Logitech was talking about releasing a UMD drive attachment for the PSP Go on a tech site. I laughed about that but I cant say if its true or not.

Is it worth paying an extra 50 bucks over the regular PSP?

Well I work at a GameStop store and I usually recommend against buying it unless you're definitely a Network User. All of your games are downloadable so when you buy them, they stay on your account. I did have one customer make a complaint about them "expiring" but I'm almost absolutely positive that he downloaded a demo or rented a movie because I haven't had a PSP in a while and I still have Medieval saved to my network account. My PS3 is really all I need but the who connectivity feature between Sony products if ******** awesome. However, I do agree that the UMD's you already have should be able to have a free transfer utility. Also, (not just because I work there) you can't trade in games you bought on the Network. I think it's good for business people on the go because they're always online anyway, and maybe some serious techies who probably own a 1000, 2000, or 3000 system already. Even when I had an original, I mostly played music on it. There are some nicer games out now that the Network has been upgraded, though.

I think that the best part about Go! is that there are still games that aren't and won't be distributed in the Network Store (Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep). xd

Just like the post above me, not all UMD games are available to download. I'll stick with the psp.
