*Tam is inside of Kero's mind, surrounded by ten stone statues...all of them are odd, yet familiar as well...one of a knight, and another of a dragon...one a rook, and the other a bishop...*

**meanie... ye had to drag in chess...**
Tam looks around to ake certain he is penned in and is quick to note there is no king or queen... but there is a dragon, so he examines that stature closely, looking for some sort of clue as to why it is different.

*There really is no difference...and three of the other statues have no definite form...one is also a strange looking creature...a coiled snake...one is a fox...and another is a lion, large as life...and fierce looking as well...*

Now Tam begins to see a correlation between the people in Kerobian's life and the statues. He flies up a tiny bit and tries to get a better view of the set up from above. Is the ground in a checkered pattern or are the statues simply standing about randomly? Do they seem to be faced off against one another? That sort of thing? While he is up there, shining a bit of light on the subject, he looks beyond the statues, to see what else he can see... pathways or doors?

*He tries, at the very least...he is surrounded by a dome of energy...and the statues are arranged in a circle, each one facing the center...there is a pathway leading off into the distance...but it is blocked off by the dome*

He then thinks to examine each statue to se if any bear any relation to him... thinking to use it as a way beyond the circle and it's trap.

*The instant he touches the fox, it springs to life, leaping off it's plinth and chasing him back to the center...when he shows no sign of threat, it returns to it's plinth again...and the shield, which had weakened a bit, strengthens again*

Shaking his head, he decides to examine without touching each statue in turn. The fox he knows won't harm him as long as he remains put, but he has no intention of doing so. The bishop he suspects is Mica, The fox his mother, Lyssan... the snake is probably Uncle Jor and the dragon is most likely Tes. Thinking that Kero probably feels safe and at home with him, he examines the rook closely, but cautiously just in case he is wrong.

*The castle also comes to life...in the same fashion as the fox, attacking him...but not harming him, as he is not a threat...he notices the shield weakening once again as the rook jumps off it's plinth...but it's still strong enough to contain him*

So he takes to the air, flying towards the statue, then, instead of running back to the center for safety, he flies off to one side, pass another statue, moving quickly from one statue to another, staying just out of reach, until he has all of them off their bases and makes a flying dash for the path, hopefully the shield is week enough by now he can get through.

*Indeed it is...for just a split second...when he looks back, he sees the statues grappling with each other...the three surreal ones forming into beings from his nightmares, doing battle with the lion...the fox battling the snake, and the knight the dragon...the rook is tackling the bishop, and he himself smacks into a wall of heat...a flaming wall, guarding the way into Kero's mind*

Gritting his teeth, Tam embraces the heat. This sort of barrier he has dealt with in the past. As his own true element is light and thus an offshoot of fire, he forces his way through to the other side, ignoring the pain, knowing it isn't real no matter how horrendous it feels. The feathers on his wings crisp and burn away, until he arrives on the other side in an entirely different form.

*Indeed...his true form...the fire burns away all illusion and lies...now he sees Kero, through a wall of glass...when he presses on it, he realizes it is molten...cool...flowing...Kero is composing a spell, experimenting with his newfound powers...he doesn't even see the angel, for angel Tam is...*

Tam watches him for a bit, to see what he is doing. Interrupting a mage in the middle of an experiment can be deadly, even here on a non-physical level.
