Evermore is about a girl named Ever that develops psychic powers after a near-death experience; it was a car crash that killed her entire family. Now, she can see auras and read minds, but she doesn't have an "off switch" for her abilities, so she suffers from constant headaches.

Ever moves in with her brother's twin sister, who is wealthy from working all of the time. At her new school, Ever tries not to socialise because it sends her powers into overdrive being around too many people. She befriends two outcasts and is content with them. Haven is a goth girl that is starved for attention and Miles is gay boy that likes theartre musicals. When Ever goes home after school to an empty mansion she talks to the ghost of her dead little sister Riley.

Everything is fine, or as "fine" as things can be given the circumstances, until Damen shows up. The new boy at school is gorgeous and has all of the girls, and most of the blokes, swooning over him, including Haven and Miles. Ever doesn't want to be interested in him, but she can't help it when he's the only person she's ever seen without an aura and the only one that can shut her migraine-inducing powers off when he's around.

It's the first book in The Immortals series. Discuss the book, and its sequels if you've read them, here!

I read Evermore, and I liked it, but not enough to read the rest of the series.

I liked Riley and Miles a great deal. I laughed so hard when Miles said that he "camped it up" when his father forced him to go to the batting cages, and when Riley looked Damen up and down in Ever's room and gave Ever a double thumbs-up. rofl

The reason that I decided not to read the rest of the series is that I don't like Damen, and he's the most important person in Ever's life, especially now that Riley has crossed-over to the spirit world. I don't like him because he's too perfect. He's drop-dead (no pun intended) gorgeous and good at everything: sports, music, art, etcetera. I know he's skilled in all areas because he's had centuries to learn, but it's still irritating because I don't like characters without flaws. Why can't he be clumsy, shy, quick-tempered, or...anything to make him seem like a real person?

Well, I suppose that he is extremely selfish, which constitutes as a flaw. He brought Ever back to life without asking if that was what she wanted, and decided to erase her memories instead of simply answering her questions. That hardly endears him to him, though. rolleyes

Anyway, I would recommend this book to people that like Twilight because it's like a much better version of Twilight. Ever actually has best friends and close relatives that she loves and talks to everyday, unlike Bella who only obsesses over Edward. Plus, Ever has interesting psychic powers that she can't control, so they constantly drive her insane! cool It resembles Twilight in the sense that a girl meets a ridiculously handsome, talented young man that all of the girls in school want to date, but who is only interested in her. He's shrouded in mysteries that he refuses to explain, like why he's frequently absent and never eats and never invites her to his home, but Ever willingly dates him anyway.

I give it a 5 out of 10. It was average overall.

I found the book ok. Lately that is how I have been finding a lot of fantasy type books.

Riley and Miles would be my favorite characters. I give a high five to Miles for getting the lead in Hairspray. I have to say I love that part. I love Riley because my younger sister and I act just like Ever and Riley; there consent bickering yet can't seem to live with out each other. Also I love Rileys faze where she switches between costumes. I wish every day we could dress up and leave the house and no one would think twice about it.

I didn't trust Damen at the beginning and my trust for him never really grew into trust with all the secrets and everything. At first I thought he was going to end up being another vampire... I have to say the idea of him being an immortal was neat though.

I feel Ever only decided to really date him because she was feeling lonely and he stopped the ridiculous headaches she got. Then she found out Damen and her had had past lives together and he had made her an immortal. Basically he was all she had left.

I have read the 2nd book Blue Moon which I found completely boring and seemed to drag on. It had an interesting sort of to dramatic ending, but now I need to read Shadow Land because I sort of want to know what is going to happen.

Oh my gosh, I loved Evermore!

I love Riley, she's one of my favorite characters. The other being Miles, because he's just SO awesome, Haven, for her goth-i-ness, but loves pink cupcakes. And Damen for his smexii-ness, but he is just WAY to perfect.
Min, if you don't like his perfect-ness, read Blue Moon. He get all, un-immortal, and regular. Meaning, rude and inconsiderate to Ever, and he also gets WAY snobb-ish.
But I don't think it's like Twilight. Yes, it's WAY(sorry for the all-caps. i guess i'm in the mood) better. Okay, yeah. Now that I think about it, yes, you're right. Creepy-ish....
I read it at night, when I spending the night's at my friends house. I finished it in one day, then went and bought Blue Moon, and want Shadowland. So, I need the first, and the third...
