Has anyone noticed that when there is a song about Palestine, they tell us to stop paying taxes to the American government? :/

Also, a lot of Middle Eastern Muslims are saying this too.
They tell me it's my DUTY to oppose whats happening to the innocent in Palestine.

I mean...we cant just NOT pay taxes...Then we go to jail. And any good we COULD have done is gone, because we're in jail. How is this so hard to understand? :/

Has anyone noticed this?
And why does the guilt fall onto the shoulders of American Muslims?

That is what always ticks me off. I mean everywhere you go people blame the muslims for everything. i mean did we plan Fort Hood shooting? No. It was so guy who finally lost it and besides he went to Virginia Tech.
have people ever tried thinking outside the box, because all this prejudice is really annoying.

Yeah, I agree. Even while supporting the Palestinians, it's ridiculous to say we should all go to jail for tax evasion, and the only other alternative would be to leave America altogether. Also, while it's true a large percentage of our tax money goes to Israel and to wars, it also goes to a lot of other things. I think it makes more sense to stay out of jail, and instead raise awareness, and encourage people to demand that their tax dollars are spent differently.

I also agree. One of the reasons is that many Muslims living in majority Muslim nations tend to forget that nationality and religion are not mutually exclusive. That is, Muslims in America are tax-paying, election-voting, both natural born and naturalized citizens, in a country with a constitution that guarantees them the freedom to practice their faith.

I am sorry but you cannot stop paying your taxes. You can choose to not buy things that you feel are wrong-go towards an evil, but you can't disobey those in authority, the government.

Allah(swt) says in Surah 4:59

O ye who believe! Obey Allah, and obey the messenger and those of you who are in authority; and if ye have a dispute concerning any matter, refer it to Allah and the messenger if ye are (in truth) believers in Allah and the Last Day. That is better and more seemly in the end.
