My mom bought this at a thrift store, & we can't figure out what it is. Do you have any ideas?  That's the top of it, then it's just a stick under it. It's made completely of wood. The rings around the middle move, & when you shake it, it sounds a tiny bit like a rattle, but we have no idea. Update as of 12/4/09: We think it's a Honey Dipper. What do you think?

FateElite Hmm...... Maracas? Belated happy birthday by the way. Haha, thank you. Maybe, but it's not a very loud maraca if it is one. It's not filled with anything, it's solid, but the rings around it making a quiet rattle type sound when you shake it.

We figured out what it is! (We think)
While looking through a store that sells cooking-ware (pots, pans, measuring cups, etc) on Black Friday, we saw some Honey Dippers that looked similar, so that's what we think it is.
What do you think?
