I think it's ok to have candy and maybe even throw your own party excluding the occult stuff. My opinion is, if it's not Haram on other days of the year (and candy and fun are not Haram obviously) it's Halal as long as it's not used to pay respects to a pagan idea. It can be Halaloween. wink
When I was little, we always had a "fall festival" in October where we would dress up, play games, decorate pumpkins, and have things like cider and candy corn. If it's something like that, it doesn't seem bad, to me.

It is also a celebration for those witches... Those people who think they are vamps, or witches or whatever...

blackbird creative I didn't go trick or treating in a long time. But my friends are making me go this year, lol. I think it's fine as long as you don't actually 'celebrate' the meaning behind Halloween. You know about the devil or whatever. Most people don't really 'celebrate' it anyway. Most people just dress up, decorate for the fun of it. And free candy of course! Hrrm...Devils had nothing to do with Halloween. Click here to read the somewhat confusing fusion Also, Latinos celebrate it as 'Dia de los Muertos' literally, day of the dead. Where they remember and celebrate those who have passed.

Halloween is an old pagan holiday, not some christian one, so I don't see any offense in partaking in it if you follow your customs as usual (no skimpy succubus uniforms 4 you).
Many would be surprised that the first jack-o-lanterns were actually made out of turnips.

Sorry, I didn't mean devils! I read about this a long time ago, but thanks for the link! I needed to refresh my memory! xd

I love Dia de los Muertos...make masks and stuff...just show respect for loved ones...kinda nice...
Halloween is so material now I doubt many follow any sort of pagan/spiritual belief during this time. I do like the seasonal change though.

I've always celebrated Halloween. Last year I even went trick-or-treating. (Probably the last time. I'm getting a little old for that.) Dressing up and getting candy is fun. My family always rents tons of scary movies to watch too. I don't celebrate the pagan connotations. Most secular holidays even some Christian ones came from what was originally considered pagan. I love the Day of the Dead that is celebrated in Mexico. I think it's beautiful that they honor their dead relatives every year. A picknick in the graveyard is kind of neat. 3nodding

When I first moved country and they celebrated Halloween, I wanted to go trick-or-treating with my friends. My dad was against the idea because of all the 'oogie boogie' nonsense. But eventually I talked to him about it with my mom and he let me go.
Just because I wanted to go trick or treating didn't mean I believed in the 'oogie boogie' ness whee In the end, it mostly comes down to intentions. I only intended to get sum candeh whee

Does anyone here celebrate it? If you dont, why not? Alot of things in this society that are "commercialized" come from some out-dated tradition and that tradition would most likely not be in Islam. Im not celebrating Halloween b/c it's roots are pagan and personally it's a waste of money and time.
