Can anyone say: "Zero Population?" Didn't we already go through this faze? Why do we have to keep throwing up the past, not only in fashion but in politics as well?

I actually have a way to save the planet, and it does not involve reducing the population drastically. It's actually very original...
...so original inf act, that only a few have thought of it, and it may shock you as to what this solution is:
DO NOTHING ABOUT IT!
That's right, don't try to "fix" what we don't fully understand, especially what we're trying to "fix" isn't broken in the first place! If the population exceeds the carrying capacity of this planet we live on, people will die off until the number gets back down to what this planet can support.
Worst case scenario: we pollute ourselves into extinction, the earth recovers in our absence.

Global warming is just another way for big government to convince the people that they can "fix" our world. It's a socialist ploy to scare people into handing over their rights out of fear that our world will implode. The funny thing is that Global warming is fake, and people fail to realize that our planet goes through seasons of climate change every 20 years or so. Think about the great depression, our country went through one of the worst droughts in 100 years, hence why it was also coined the "dust bowl." The polar ice caps were melting then too, the funny thing about this whole polar ice cap thing too is that they're ice. They melt and new ones are formed everyday, the ice caps fluctuate and get bigger and smaller and bigger and smaller about every 50 years or so. This really isn't a big deal at all.

Ok… lets say human population does have an effect on climate of the planet, how do we reduce the population. The solution isn't always obvious or direct- just like high taxes don't create high revenues. Killing off the population or population control isn't going decrease it, China anyone? What you want it create high living standards and to allow people to create a retirement savings for themselves. Proof? Most of us live in developed countries, ask anyone how many kids they want, a lot will say none, most will say one or two, very few will say three or more. Reason is children are expensive in developed countries, and for some: more trouble than they're worth. In developing countries, they're a necessity! More children means more working hands for the fields, status and they take care of you when you can't take care of yourself. Also, children keep dying, so parents have to have 5 or 8 children just to compensate for the ones that die. Underdeveloped countries have higher population than developed countries. The only reason developed countries have any growth is due to immigration, from underdeveloped countries. Give us the freedom to create good living standards for ourselves and our population will decrease, w/o war, disease or population control.
But aside from that, mother nature has her own ways of dealing with overpopulation, its called disease. Mother nature will never allow the human population to mirror the movie Soylent Green.

The earth is not overpopulated! The population control nutjobs have been screaming, "Overpopulation!" since the 1960's and yet we're still here, the earth hasn't crumbled from the weight of a lot of people, and the world hasn't ended. We already know that global warming is a phony, although our tone-deaf congress is still wearing blinders. It's just another excuse for our Orwellian government to interfere with our lives.

farcia06 I thought global warming, sorry I mean "climate change," was caused by industral nations (aka the US), emitting nasty pollution. I was wrong, to stop "climate change" we must stop people in developing countries from having children. ]http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=D9APOM880&show_article=1 Heh... The US wouldn't be the cause anyway. We're the most 'green' of any industrial nation.
