Do you like ukes with wide eyes or ukes with narrow eyes? I prefer the wide eyed ukes, because it makes them more fitting. I'd like to hear your opinions, though, fellow yaoi fans.

I agree.Making them have wide eyes makes them look cuter.And wide eyes fit when they blush. ^3^

depends on the drawing style of the artist and the personality of the uke...generally wide eyes when they show emotions like teary eyes, egg eyes or cute kitten eyes or impersonate tomatoes
but sometimes they look good with narrow eyes if they are angry and do a little squinty face if you know what I mean

I suppose it's like a "moe" point or something. Wider eyes = cuter = more likely to be "uke."
At last, that's what my "commonly used BL/Yaoi tropes" calculator tells me. wink
Personally, I don't care very much for the whole seme/uke thing, especially when personalities in slash pairings get twisted around to fit it. crying Like with Fai in Tsubasa, who is awesome and a total badass, but then you see these fics with him being kind of wobbly and helpless. And you either have to laugh or slump on the keyboard.
But that's a discussion for another thread entirely.

I prefer narrow-eyed characters in general, although medium-ish eyes are okay enough, too.

It really does depend on the emotions. Wide is for those cute blushes and shocked looks. -laughs- But, narrow eyes can be just a cute and "uke" like. rofl

I think narrow eyes show that the uke has a more mysterious past, wide-eyed is very general though.

If the plot is good either is fine, but I lean more toward narrow.

Eyes that actually look like eyes.
ie, not those huge sailor-moon eyes that are like 3x taller than they are wide and take up half the face.
I can't watch/read something and enjoy it when the artist in me is crying.
