Ahaha... I live in an Islamic country with different cultures and religion. But I live at the area where mostly are occupied by Muslims.
But if I go to the city or mall, wearing cloth or hijab or head-scarf is a common thing here. So it doesn't bother them much.
Even foreigners is a common thing to see here.
But what will bother me is when someone starts to act cool in the public. =w= Either Muslim or not. But I found mostly are Malay-Muslim.

Act cool like they are cool than me. Or others.
They show off their skills like showing off their superior.
One day I went to a mega mall, to an arcade. I like to play this game call Para Para Paradise, where you have to dance according to the notes or simply wave your hands under the censor. It sense movement and that's how the game works.
So I was there and they are like, "ewww, this game is for girls" or "dude, this game is not for guys." Ya know like a squid tentacles, that's how most people dance. sweatdrop They think it looks stupid or not cool for guys. So for the first time, (or maybe second time) I told them to watch me play. (Or dance) Which I dance aggressively.
And yeah, I shove it on their ears and eyes that don't judge things before they even try it. =w= Well, they were gone by the last song I play. rofl

Oh, I know that game.. it's like Dance dance revolution for console game, right? I often watch people play (I never play myself), and yeah, most people playing are girls, but there's not few guys who play it as well..
I live in Muslim area, but when I went to mixed-community, people don't have problem with Islamic clothes. Sometimes they react to people that wear long hijab (only show the eyes), but they won't really show it. Well, for most things happen in the world, some people still think Islam-terrorist after all.. sweatdrop

my neighbors don't really care. nobody at my school cares either. but i started wearing my hijab in 8th grade, and well i think my teachers got a little freaked out or something, cuz they kept on asking why i was wearing it, and if it was my choice and everything. and all 6 of my teachers asked about it.

@ Shinigami Vayth
Ummm, nope. Way different than DDR. DDR needs a touch, (feet) but ParaPara needs movement.
But I don't think people in my country have problems with any kind of hijab. I've seen a lot and I think it is a common thing. Even a few of my relatives wears it. ^ ^
@ XxxBloody_WingsxxX
Why not? ;D It will be good with great discussion. But so far we still don't have any... serious discussion? OwO
Apple Juice is a mod. ^ ^
@ Strawberri Dreamz
So since you wear hijab, people start to gain attention towards you? I hope it is not a bad thing. ^ ^ll But it may be annoying that all of them ask about it.
So what sort of question did they point out at you? Are they comfortable with your presence?

well, my friend has something like portable and fold-able carpet/controller (connected to her PS) like the one used in ParaPara.
Yeah, but in public with mostly non-muslim in an area, you can see some people like "talking behind your back", of course they don't show it clearly though. You will know only if you really try to notice, so it's not really a problem..

Well, I live in an Afro-American neighborhood, two blocks down the street, it turns into a well-off middle class white neighborhood. It's weird. My neighbors are mostly scanty cladded women and they usually have alot of "business". They sit on their porch and gossip all day and night. So far I have said hi to them and they have kindly replied but that is as far as it have gone.

I'm not Muslim, but many people in my entourage seem disturbed that I know a few quotes from the Qu'Ran by heart. It's scary to see how moral panic suddenly made the world's second-most numerous religion into something that should be shunned and feared while racism and discrimination is often allowed to slide in everyday conversations. I think it's just as much a valid topic as the Bible or any other religious script when taken word-for-word. Mass hysteria really does strange things. dramallama

Ok well, my neighbors were nice to me before they found out I was Muslim. When they found out I was, they stopped talking to me. Well at least to my face. They were very rude. I just don't deal with them anymore.
Heres the back story, which is important. I am a Muslim Arab and I live in a town filled with Armenians. I'm sure you have heard about the so-called "Armenian Genocide". So all the Armenians in this town still hold a grudge over all Muslims. Because Turkey=Muslims apparently. It's really pathetic.

Well, strawberri is my sister so basically the same thing happened to me except it the teachers who started freaking out because I decided to wear hijab last year and since I would attend a high school, the teachers never knew me before I wore a hijab. For all they knew I could have been wearing it from middle school. But some of my 'friends' were asking so many questions and stuff and one of my friends, actually quite a few of my friends attempted to convice me not to wear hijab. As for our neighbors, they don't care. pirate tsuinu-san wearing long clothes ..is good for a girl .. just tell them you're sensitive from the heat of the sun .. sweatdrop There is nothing wrong trying to explain why your wearing long cloths because people might just respect you for it.
