I think that people who drive those cars that spew out black smoke should be ticketed. What do you think?

yes 3nodding , i think that carz like that sholdent be alowed on the road, ppl no that it pollutez the air, but i guess they just dont care...

well maybe, i mean yea its bad for the environment
but instead, tell them about it and maybe they will change cars,
if they dont, THEN TICKET THEM, or mess them around a bit, maybe slapp em silly xD

i completely agree. that's why my ancient truck is parked unless i absolutely have to use it. no sense in causing more problems, when we should be cleaning it up.

i dont think they should be ticketed, but i do think they should have a yearly fee for driving that kind of vehicle with the price varying on size of vehicle, gas intake, and carbon output

In my area there is an 800 number that you can call to report cars that are spewing smoke. The car owners will be sent a letter that explains that their cars are bad for the environment and they get a coupon for a tune-up at participating car dealerships. While I don't usually support going all Big Brother (reference from the book 1984 by George Orwell not the stupid reality TV show) on people and ratting them out, this program seems harmless enough. I can't say what happens to the car owners if they ignore the warning.
