When Nicknaming your Pokemon, What do you take into Account?

I Hadn't Started nick-naming my Pokemon until a COupel Days ago, After I had gotten all of the EeveeLutions on my FireRed.

I Give all of my Pokemon Common Japanese Names,
Mainly because I Love Japanese names. >.<

How about you?
Or do you not Nickname your Pokemon?

Well, I usually don't nickname a Pokemon until I've trained them for a while. It gives me time to get to know them. Yes, I'm one of those people that gets emotionally attached to the little pixel creatures, sue me. xd But sometimes, I name them based on first impressions, like my shiny Slugma, I named her Pewter because she's a silvery color. And I named my Platinum starter Chimchar Chicha because I was lucky enough to get a girl. 3nodding

I don't know if this is just me, but I always name my pokemon after one of two things: either some figurehead (a music artist, greek god, diety, or something) that resembles it, or I just give it a random nickname. I try to make it a pun (Infernape = Fern Rape, Scizor = DontRunW/Me or Edward S.)

I don't nickname my pokemon anymore... Except my starter Piplup I named Shippo. (^3^) Back when I had Crystal Version, I nicknamed all of them. Like my Pidgey was Fetherz. xD

Never named mine. In the older games the PCs where set up so that only the name's of the Pokemon where what you saw. So you had to remember what Pokemon owned what nickname. It was confusing so I never did it. I'm still doing it, even though they've upgraded the PC and made it easier to see what's in it.
