This is wear you can post you own work if you are wanting to. Whether it be a poem, short story, or any other kind of writing.
If you have writer's block and need help thinking of new ideas or help for your writing, do not hesitate to ask, for your fellow elves will be glad to lend a thought or two! 3nodding
Lastly, should you want opinions on what you are writing, simply post, ask, and you shall receive some!

I started my own thread for my work, dear. If we're all posting chapters at a time, your thread could easily become some sort of gargantuan dimension-beast. But I do appreciate having somewhere to bounce ideas around! Especially since I strongly suspect my entire book is going to get changed around once or twice before I'm finished. I keep finding other threads that need to be included...

Currently I'm trying to figure out how to make a strategy meeting not be so very boring and droning. I may excise it altogether in favor of a character-study-drenched dialog. I always hated meetings...

I figured that some people have done that already, this is just a general place to, like you said, bounce ideas around.
Change can be good. When revising, you can always find a way to better explain something, add in details, or add in another whole scene.

I've always found most meetings usually boring and dull, but most of the time they provide valuable information to the reader, or at least to me.
One way to make it a little more exciting would be to introduce a new character perhaps. You could also have someone come up with a crazy sounding strategy that they actually decide to use.

I tend to skim the strategy meetings and pay closer attention when the plan is actually put into action because - you're right - they tend to be boring. xd The way to get me interested is to make the meeting take place from a character's point of view that will make funny mental comments whenever someone makes an idiotic suggestion. lol Or throw some sexual tension between two of the characters into the scene; they're trying to stay focused on the important discussion when all they want to pay attention to is each other. wink

I agree Minerva. Those type of instances do make strategy meetings rather enjoyable. 3nodding They seem to go by a whole lot faster too.

My computer apparently voted in favor of excising the scene - corrupted hard drive. xp

On the bright side, the hubby and I had a plot discussion on the way to the beach - my parents volunteered to take the kids in their truck. It's amazing what you can hammer out when both parties are interested and can speak in full sentences without having to shout over backseat attention-hounding.
