General Rolepalying Rules and Regulations
First off, admintance. If you want to participate in this roleplay you will be required to submit a formal request. This request is limited to 500 words and you are to give us a little about yourself, but more importantly a sample of your roleplaying skills. I have had my fair share of experience with forum based RP and have certain levels of expectation. However, I am quite forgiving on stuff like grammatical and speling mistakes. Everyone makes them, as long as they do not adversely effect the reading of a post, who cares? This is to give you an idea of what will be expected off anyone who partakes in ANY roleplay I am hosting.
Now, one thing about style for RP around here may or may not be different than what you are used to. I prefer something more narrative while allowing for combat between characters should the genre alllow. What does this mean? Well, more than anything else it means you are expected to play freindly and fairly. Reading an Rp should be akin to readinng a segement off a book and any physical (or otherwise) confrontations should be appropiately descriptive. The hardest part poeple have with this style of RP is that you need to be willing to win some and loose some as deemed sensible by the progressive story line.
That brings me to another point. I am not going to spoon feed you plot. In a previous successful RP of this style all i supplied wsa the starting setting and (through my character) some overlying conflict. I will likely do the same here. YOU have to make the story progress and decide what happens. You will also be expeccted to stay within practical realms. Any really out of place character or someone claiming to have over the top abilites will not be allowed.
One very particular rule. NO SEX. You can have some romance, but anything sexual is considered to happen "off stage". Also try to keep profanity to a minimum (I say this as someone who swears a lot) because where writing is concerned it is generally a sign of poor skill andis more often than not unneccessary.
The theme has now been set. The RP will take place in a setting of my own creation detailed below. You MUST USE A SELF CREATED CHARACTER. I will not allow use of any existing character in this RP. be creative, it will be more rewarding in the long run anyway.
