I am an illustrator. I love to draw figures, lines, anything. Well, I decided to do something different today. I went to Joann's, bought some scrap fabric and felt and two broaches. Went to my friend's house and I made a small make-up bag from SCRATCH. I never really had any experience sewing before but I fell in love, tonight.
I just want to show off my finished product! :3

Yeah... it's kinda difficult and I needed some help like, getting started with the needle and like using the sewing machine. And I made my friend sew on the zipper, though after looking at it, I could've done a better job myself on that xD But yeah... with practice I'm sure it'll get easier for me. I really enjoy it. It's very relaxing xD The next thing I'm going to make is a little cake. Like a plushy cake. It's soooo cute >w<

Nice work, the broach goes very well with that fabric! Cute figurines, Mokona. smile I enjoy working with all sorts of different materials. Here are some of the things I have made: My first attempt at ceramics, no references. My second attempt, a study of an old Roman bust. And here is a handpainted, quilted skirt I made. Sadly the closeups of the paintings on this disappeared when my laptop crashed, along with the photos of the other clothes and jewellery I made. sad

Very well done! =3 You really selected the perfect scrap of fabric with the broach, they complement each other nicely.
xD I LOVE to sew, my grandma taught me to make my own quilt when I was younger, and I've been making clothes/costumes off and on since then. (xD; No picture of my shirt, but it's a kimono style top. And I've made my son's costumes, and a few Con pieces, but nothing too impressive.)
=3 Sewing is pretty tricky to get right, if that's your first try, you're already showing some awesome talent.

@kajina lol! i read that book! *points at "clan of the cave bear" * im sooo ooolddd... Y w Y lol! @mokona aaawww~! ed and al! so cute~! my friend cringes when i mention that pairing since she's a roy and ed fan. i really don't mind but... *laughs* i couldn't tell her i'm an al/ed fan too ^^;;; i always wondered how people make ceramics ^^ it looks very delicate to make @Orielle beautiful scultures there! we've never tried sculpture in art class... what is it made of? is it hardening clay? ^^ i especially liked the bust of the old man ^^ i wonder if there are some who also make plushies here ^^ i intended to sell this one but when Niel Gaiman visited our country, i gave it to him during the book signing... im not sure if he likes cute stuff though... lol! but i hope..hope...hope so ^^;;;;

That plushie is really cute! What did you use for the swirly parts of the hair?
I used ceramic clay, but these photos were taken before burning them. My teacher threw both of them away at the end of the semester. sad
I love to sew too, and to fix up and alter clothes. smile
