xD I have a chronic illness that leaves me with flare ups, but I seem to have found that while I'm not feeling well, I tend to draw a lot better. I've heard of a few other artists joking about the same thing, so... how about you guys?

Do you even draw when you're ill, or are you under the covers and away from paper/the computer? Or is it just a great time to draw, home sick from work/school, but awake enough to draw?

I can't draw at all when I am sick.
I just sleep all day.
xDD'''

I can only draw when I am in total concentration or inspiration.

    I'm sick right now, and can say it's not helping at all.
    Infact, the colouring is looking very sloppy, I should stop and go nap ono;;

    The only difference I find is that you've got more time to draw;
    I do however, get more inspiration and "omgmustdraw!" just before that time of the month [ohlol] for some reason.

I never even feel up to drawing when I am feeling sick/depressed.

If I recall correctly form an article I read some time ago, when you PMS, you have higher levels of estrogen, which help with creativity. (Or it's something with the wonky hormones equaling an increase in creative juices. )

I get it too. XD One of the few nice things that come with PMS.

While I don't draw better while sick, I do tend to draw better between 11pm and 2am.

I suffer from almost chronic headaches, so I can work through a lot of stuff. but when I have a cold, I'm too busy with getting air in my lungs to bother with drawing. xD;

yaknow, I think that works for me too. explains why I suddenly was drawing like mad last week. xDDD
and that's the timeslot I like best as well. something about knowing that everybody else is asleep, the streets empty, sun gone, I dunno, makes me more active then during the day.

Maya: Oh yeah, exactly 3nodding
I live with my family, so all throughout the day I tend to get interrupted. It's also noisy and energic. Generally not a good working environment for me.

But everyone's in bed or settled down by then so I can just relax.

    That would make sense~
    I think my body's just "programmed" to it now though; using the pill takes away the techincal PMS, but I still get that random creative surge? ohlol either way it's fun.

    And I'm the same with you two; the only chance I can get to draw between 5 people sharing one computer is at night, so I stay up until 2:30 drawing XD

Well you still have the spike/fluctuation of hormones even on the pill, if I'm not mistaken, so I think it still might be natural? I'm not sure though; I'm no medical expert. XD;

I can sympathize with your plight. I used to constantly be fighting against the rest of my family (five of us total) to use the laptop. Not fun. :[

    Um.. I can't relate to the first subject. *cough*

    But I do find that I do most of my drawing at night. 3nodding There's less of a distraction from the world, definitely.

    I'm so lucky that I don't have to deal with sharing a computer. gonk

I can never draw when I'm majorly sick.
I feel gross and drowsy and end up passing out or needing to get something to make myself feel better. D:

xD... I haven't noticed anything with the *ahem* girl issues but I wasn't really taking that into account, it's a bit interesting to here.

Yeah, agreed. Drawing at night is super nice, with no nagging others around.
o__< I get pretty severe bouts of insomnia too, but I found that drawing while exhausted, I tend to do a bit better, and it's calming enough to make me a bit more sleepy.
