Artist-So how much cash or gold have you guys made off of your works?
Art Collectors-how much have you spent on art?
i have spent over 20m gold on art so far,now vending once again to replenish my art funds sweatdrop

I've totally lost count. My current contest prizes are over 20m, I've given out a NM scarf and an Angelic one for art, last contest had horns of the demon and laurels... In total, I'd say probably around 100m?

rl money - ...some XD since i started doing commissions, somewhere around 1.6k
gold - i have no clue D: i dont keep track. a good amount, considering i was able to get my DJs out of art alone.

Aha...I am very cheap.
I probably spent like 1 mil on art but I have like 2 mil in pending commissions. ~.~
But I am mainly after chibi commissions so I don't burn off that much money.
I don't make that much money selling art. It is more of a hobby than a job.

As for RL i think i've spent around $100-150?
I haven't taken any RL commissions for my arts yet, but for my graphics, i've received $90 from one person ( since i've only taken one order lol )

I've probably made just short of a million off my art over the past couple of years. This is in total for all the art that I've been commissioned.
As for paying for art... maybe 10-20k. I like art from other people, I just don't know what I want drawn therefor I don't pay for art.

Ohes this is hard, probabaly about 400k and thats being generous, and what ive spent on art.. oh my... i dread to think millions and some RL monies as well, though i dont keep count D: Thats not much help really is it D:

I've spent about 225m-300m on art on my 5+ years on Gaia. xd
Only about $400 on RL - based commishes though.

I've made quite a few gold with my mini shop alone. Let's just say I was able to complete all my dream avi's. As in RL...I haven't had time to buy any since I'm the one making art all the time and I haven't sold any of my works.

In real life money, I'd say about sixty dollars. Virtual wise... 100k all together? That might be a safe estimate, but usually I buy a lot of art from the cheaper shops that are open, and then forget the price. xD;
Money I've made off of my art, I've made about 800k, possibly more. Plus the kistune mask I was given in trade for graphics and animation. @___@ I make more from animations, and I wish I had the attention span to return to it. (My inner art whore weeps from the lack of funds.)

I've been doing commissions on Gaia since 2004... and they make up about 90% of my 'income' - the rest comes from light investing... so quite a bit I guess? Really have no idea. (though nowadays I just sell off old stuff to get funds more often than not rofl )
RL... I don't take many RL commissions so I guess maybe $300 (over a few years lol...) =w=;; but I go to a lot of Anime conventions and make a good amount off of them~
As far as commissioning... I don't have OC's so I don't have much to get commissions of :F... so I've probably dropped a few million over the years? Mostly for small avi commissions or as gifts to other friends with OC's.
>3< In general I think if you have the skills for it, art's not a bad way to get money on gaia, especially since it's reinforcing a real skill you can put to use later.
