I am about to start Valient, but I'm having a crisis here: I have not read Tithe. IS THIS A PROBLEM!?!?!?

You need to read Tithe to read Ironside (so I've heard, as I haven't read ironside), but Valiant only makes one tiny references to Tithe since they don't deal with the same characters.

I thought that Tithe was okay, but I didn't like Valiant because I look down on drug use, which is essentially what the characters were doing. It was simply faerie drugs. Even though I liked Tithe, I didn't like it enough to read Ironside. Roiben was my favourite character in Tithe, of course.

I only read the first book in The Spiderwick Chronicles. I found them a bit too child-like for my tastes, but I might've liked them if I read them when I was younger.
