As we all know Fullmetal Alchemist is complete with both humorous and serious moments. Since there is a topic to reflect on the totally 'LOL' worthy moments, how about the more serious and/or sad ones?
For me, the Nina situation was completely not laughable. I think that it was more well done in the manga than the anime. There is was more emotional and tear jerking for me... Yes, I admit it. I didn't cry but damn I felt like I wanted to. :(
How sad is that for a small girl to have her life taken and warped just so that her father can have success and then killed?
What about you guys?

Here are some moments for me... -When Hughes died -When Edward Died -When Al made this speech about how many times he should've died but didn't, and how he thought that he should because he isn't special -Edward/Alphonse's selfless sacrifice to bring each other back from the gate -In the movie: When Edward and Alphonse were finally back together again, and Edward said he had to go back to the other side of the gate without Alphonse and Al started crying and Ed looked all serious There are probably more but I forget... ~{Saruna-chan is Alphonse Elric's #1 fan.}~

I think the second episode I ever watched of Fullmetal Alchemist was Nina dying. I didn't understand what was happening but at the end it was sad. It was even sadder when I actually read the series. I do agree that it was more sad in the manga than the anime.
There aren't too many other moments for me. I feel heartless because I didn't feel extremely sad when Hughes died, but when I read it I was like
'No! Hughes can't die! I bet he lives....' then a few pages later: 'WHAT?! Hughes died?! Sucks........

When Hughes dies ;-; Why'd it have to be the kewl guy? ;-; Wit the kid?! How are you gonna kill some poor little girl's daddy like that?

i couldnt handle hughes death! and the funeral o god i think im going to cry crying and then edward died i couldnt hold it there are some much more but these are the ones that stick out in my mind right now o i couldnt laugh at the part when edward trys to save the two serial killer brothers and one of the brothers kill himself and ed trys to stop him and and omg why does it have to be so sad! crying

Parts I did NOT lol at:
- Nina's and Alexander's deaths. (I felt just as bad for the dog as Nina, but I'm an animal person, so I digress.)
- Hughes' death. I was rather fond of Hughes, so the first time I saw it, I broke into tears. I still cry to this day, no matter whether I see it in either anime, or in the manga.
- Hughes' funeral. It. Wrenched. My. Heart. Out. When Elicia was begging them not to bury her father...I just lost it all over again and cried my eyes out.
2003 Anime Exclusive:
- The brothers' selfless sacrifices to bring each other back from the Gate, especially Alphonse's sacrifice.
- When Edward died.
- When Wrath bound himself to Sloth while Edward and Alphonse fought her.
- When Scar sacrifices himself to save Alphonse by creating the transmutation circle to create a Philosopher's Stone within Alphonse to disable the explosive compound that Kimblee changed Alphonse's armor.
Manga/Brotherhood exclusive:
- When Lan Fan cuts off her injured arm to throw Wrath and Gluttony off the trail of her and Ling.

i only cried the first time i saw huges die but everytime i saw the same ep. i didnt cry i have no idea y? my sis n her friend when they saw that ep. they were bust laughing im like wat is there 2 laugh about some1 jus died

I will admit i cried when Nina and Hughes died. But the one that got me the most was when Ed died. First I was angry cuz it was Envy, who is my second favorite character, that offed him. And then it was even worse when ed sacraficed himself for Al right after Al did the same for Ed.
