~{Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. This is alchemy's first law of Equivalent Exchange.}~Okay so this topic just randomly occured to me... How did you first get into Fma? ^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^^^^ Over the summer; I needed to read books for my school's summer reading announcement, so I decided to read manga for it. It's not like the school checks these things anyway....so anyway. I went to the library since I wanted to do the reading on my bed. I was looking through the many options(I went to a library a little bit further away from me so I'd have more choices) when Fma caught my eye. I was like, "That looks cool..." so I picked up all the volumes they had at the time. I zipped through them quickly, and then I soon became obsessed. Then, Adult Swim started showing Fma again, and I was like, "MAKE SURE YOU RECORD THAT OR I'LL KILL YOU!!!!" to my mom. After a few episodes, I was hooked. And this became my newest obsession...I didn't even see the first 10 episodes yet when I begged my parents to get me Fma stuff for Christmas. And they did, or course, but more than I expected. They got me the Art of Fma 1 & 2, and the Art of Fma the Anime, as well as the Special Edition 2 Disc Set of FullMetal Alchemist The Movie Conqueror of Shamballa. (That's how I ended up seeing the movie before most of the series...) I know it's a long story so I understand if you just skip all of it....(and I still don't know how my Alphonse obsession formed between all of this). So...what's your story? ~{Saruna-chan is Alphonse Elric's #1 fan.}~

My brother told me about it. I was really exited cause I was about 13 or 14 & I almost never stayed up past midnight, so I stayed up. I was really sleepy, but the first episode I saw was "A Forger's Love", where a guy makes a dummy girl with alchemy cause it looks like his old gf, who died... but it turns out she didn't die, she just got old...
Anyway, I was really sleepy, I was falling half asleep but I didn't want to sleep, because it was interesting & I wanted to feel adult. This show helped me become a man! XD
At first, I didn't understand it much, I thought they were using magic, or something, but then my bro told me about it, & I didn't fully understand, but I got it more...

Well, I think I first watched it out of random curiousity. I wasn't allowed to watch adult swim at that time (which was about three years ago), but that made me want to see it even more. It was mainly about the music though, I was listening the the all the anime openings and I loved it <3 (that also caused my liking of Japanese music, but most people would consider that being a weaboo .__.) So then I stayed up to watch FMA and I was kinda in a trance so I watched almost all of one episode. (until my mom came in and then I got in trouble for watching it)
But then this year, I wanted to see a lot of the animes I missed out on. (including fma). So then I started watching the anime, and reading the manga, and so on. Now my parents let me watch anime from adult swim (but they are mad at me cuz my 9 year old brother watches it too with me, but I can't help it, he wants to watch everything I watch)

@Saruna You could get them off of DVDs, its just pretty hard to XD For Ipods, you can download it off of google.video.com, its free & legal, they just give 'em away. Its kinda like youtube, but better XD
For other MP3s, its kinda hard because they can only play some things. You just need to know where to download 'em.

My mom found it years later(now), and when I saw it, I was like, "OMG THAT'S WINRY WHERE THE HECK DID THAT COME FROM?????" It's amazing what you can find in your own house.
