well actually i have played all of them before... freshman year I played cymbols then sophmore year I did snare. then junior year we did a peice where i started out as snare and then we switched in the middle of the second song went to pit for like 8 messures and then i got on quints... and now im on bass for my senior year... we got nearly all seniors this year for our bass like cause we doing some really hard stuff on them this year so they need more expierenced people...
its all 6-tuplets with a bunch of diddles all over the place...
all the songs have awsome parts and our solo is rockin' by far the hardest part ever... our bass part for this year is harder than anything i played as a snare or quint player... and we do junk harder than the colleges around us(LSU, NSU, UL, ETC.) so when we go to college we getting easier stuff than before... love being in purrcussion...

Pit bangs harder than the battery. Don't deny it!
I'm a freshman and I play xylophone/pit tom in the pit. I'm planning on getting moved up to marimba next year and maybe becoming pit leader for my junior and senior years. That'll rock pretty hard.

I'm trumpet section leader for the fall season, but my true love is bass drum during winter season (GO BASS!!)
Last year was cool, but it sucked because i was on first bass. Not that anythings wrong with that, i like the sound, but im the second tallest one in the bass line. So you have me, a really tall girl with a tiny itty bitty first bass. Luckily, I got put on third bass this year. It finally looks good on me! The heights are perfect on our bass line! Tallest plays fourth, shortest plays first, perfect! Plus, the sound on third is much beafier than first (no offense, I started on first bass). My favorite is second bass, though. And now, enough of my rambiling

Dude... The whole grouping the entire pit together for the poll... not cool. We're just as individual as the different parts of the battery. Heck, even if you went xylo, vibraphone, marimba, glock, other, it would be better than just grouping us as one. No, actually, I'm messing with you. But pit rocks my sox!!! Unfortunately, I'm not going to be a member of the pit next year, because the instructors are drivin me mad, and the only one that isn't is only there for the summer and then goes to AZ for the rest of the year... So I'll probably be going to my alto sax for marching band season... Yes, I'm a traitor...

The only veteran member of pit percussion in our band, out of the four of us this year. I play Xylophone/Marimba, and technically will be playing Vibraphone as soon as it's delivered.
But, not the pit captain, mind you. The captain title went to the guy who was a co-captain of the drumline last year but decided to do pit this year. Of course, that won't change the fact that I'm better at mallet keyboard percussion than him, or that I've heard he's probably gonna go back to drumline next year, leaving the captain position to me, most likely, if the BD decides to even have a pit captain next year.
Just have to wait and see. ^-^

Well, im not in band yet, but im actually going yo join next semester as snares or quads. I played a little bit in a garage with my buddies and well frankly, since ive moved to this little hick-a** town there arent any locals. so im gonna be in band. i finally have something to release my talent (hopefully, me and the BD are really close so i might get the part.)

Pit ! Heck yes ! I am a freshman (( yesh I know* Le gaspith*))i will play bells , synth, vibes it really all depends on what my band director writes plus we are combineding with rb ^^

But dang! this junior girl on bass 3 is whinning about how heavy her drum is..I didn't whine about bass 5 as a freshman..so she should shut up, right?
