He wrote the Abhorsen trilogy based on necromancy and the Keys to the Kingdom series based on the 7 days of the week and 7 Deadly Sins.
Thoughts?

I love the Abhorsen trilogy and the Keys to the Kingdom. The Seven Towers I haven't read.
But I think he was excellent in the ones I have read. heart

GARTH NIX!! GARTH NIX GARTH NIX!!! *hops up and down, cheering*
I've only read three of his books, but they were absolutely amazing. I've never read anything to compare it to. maybe... possibly..... I can't think of anything right now.....

As far as the Abhorsen trilogy goes: Sabriel is definitely in my list of top 20 books ever! The plot is incredibly unique; necromancy is so rarely described as a good thing. heart Lireal annoyed me so much; I can't stand self-pitying people! scream Seriously, the book starts with her trying to jump off of a building, and her life isn't bad at all! So what if her powers hadn't shown up yet? I liked Abhorsen, though. It wasn't as good as Sabriel, but Mogget was my fave character, so it was cool to see him have a destiny like that. cool
I only perused the first book in The Keys to the Kingdom. I certainly enjoyed the plotline, and I thought Arthur (the main character) was cool, too. I just didn't...connect to the story. You know when someone is perfectly nice, but you wouldn't date them because there's no chemistry? That's how I feel about that series.

OMGGGGGGGGG!!!!! I went to my friend's house last Thursday, and I practically screamed my head off. I was looking through her bookshelves and I found The first book for Keys of the Kingdom. I grabbed the book and sat down reading. They all stared at me like I was crazy. It was soo much fun.

Haha, that's funny, Emira! I've never done that exactly, but I have been at friends houses and screamed, "Oh my God, I can't believe you have it!" about books on their shelves. They never think I'm mad, however, because they're accustomed to the sort of behaviour from me, especally when it pertains to literature. Plus, I have two friends that do the same thing to me.

Yeah... but it's kinda rare when I go to my friends houses. It happens at the library quite often for me though.
