Sailor Wars
In the fifth major story arc, especially that of the manga, it becomes clear that Sailor Senshi number possibly in the thousands across the galaxy, protecting many of the stars, planets, and celestial bodies. This story arc is largely concerned with the Sailor Wars, an ancient, epic struggle between all Sailor Senshi and the forces of darkness. In the manga, all of Sailor Moon's previous enemies are portrayed as small parts of this galactic war, each of them having been connected with the ultimate evil being known as Chaos
Galaxy Cauldron
In Act 47 of the manga, the Galaxy Cauldron was revealed to be the birthplace of all stars and all living things in the galaxy. It was located at the center of the Milky Way Galaxy, in Sagittarius Zero Star. In the final manga arc, this place was taken over by Chaos, the purest form of evil, and Sailor Moon was faced with the option of destroying the Cauldron and ending the recycling of life, thus ending all the wars. Chibi Chibi tried to convince Sailor Moon that destroying it was the right thing to do to end all suffering, but Sailor Moon told Chibi Chibi not to give up, to always have hope, and that living life was more important. Sailor Moon then threw herself into the Cauldron.
Guardian Cosmos, the small but powerful guardian of the Cosmos Crystal, resided within the Galaxy Cauldron. When she saw Usagi in the Cauldron, she was surprised that Usagi and her friends could retain their physical forms within the Cauldron. She asked Usagi if she had come to the Cauldron to throw her life into it and start a new star's history, or if she wanted to live as she was. Given the choice, Usagi said that she wanted to live her life as she was, no matter how difficult it might be, in order to build a future together. Guardian Cosmos granted their wish, and as they were being pulled away, Usagi asked about Chaos. Guardian Cosmos told them that Guardian Chaos and the Chaos Seed had been dissolved into the Cauldron, but might be born again.
The most powerful star in the universe, located deep in space in Zero Star Sagittarius. Everything is created and destroyed within the Galaxy Cauldron - life is created there, born as tiny stars that eventually grow into planets and the guardians who protect those planets, the Sailor Soldiers. Sailor Soldiers who die can be reborn there, or they can choose to stay in their purest forms. Galaxia said that it is "the holy land of the stars, The Galaxy Cauldron. Strong stars and weak stars. Trash and Sailor Soldiers. This is the place where all the stars throughout the galaxy are born." The Galaxy Cauldron looks like a bubbling stream of energy just below a cliff. It is only in the manga, never in the anime.
Sailor Cosmos
Sailor Cosmos (セーラー・コスモス ,Sērā Kosumosu) reveals herself in the final Act of the manga. She comes from a future which has been all but decimated by the battle with Sailor Chaos; after ages of fighting, she despairs and flees to the past as the infant ChibiChibi, to encourage Eternal Sailor Moon to defeat Chaos in the final battle of the series. At first, she wants Sailor Moon to destroy the Galaxy Cauldron altogether, ensuring Chaos' destruction, but Sailor Moon protests, realizing that if the Cauldron is destroyed no more stars will be born, leaving the Galaxy without a future. She chooses to sacrifice herself to the Cauldron and seal Chaos away, which Cosmos finally realizes to have been the right decision. Reminded of the strength and courage she herself needs to have, she returns to the future with new hope.
The manga implies that Sailor Cosmos is the ultimate form of Sailor Moon; this fact is confirmed in a magazine interview with Naoko Takeuchi. There are multiple theories in the Sailor Moon fandom as to what this means.
None of Sailor Cosmos' powers are directly shown. Nevertheless, it is implied in the final chapter of the manga that the ability to utilize all the galaxy's Sailor Crystals together to form the Cosmos Crystal, also called Lambda Power, is a defining characteristic of being Sailor Cosmos.
Sailor Cosmos never makes an appearance in the anime series, although the silhouette of ChibiChibi's adult form (the "Light of Hope") bears a strong resemblance to her. Naoko Takeuchi commented that she wished Sailor Cosmos had been in the anime.
Chaos (カオス ,Kaosu) emerges as the main villain in the Sailor Moon universe.
Chaos, a being trapped in the Galaxy Cauldron, missed out on becoming a star. It is revealed that, during the course of the series, Chaos sends out incarnations in the form of Sailor Moon's major enemies (Queen Metaria, Wiseman, Pharaoh 90 and Queen Nehellenia), and eventually uses Sailor Galaxia to steal Sailor Crystals so it can free itself and rule the galaxy. In the manga, when Sailor Moon fights the final enemy of an arc it is basically an enormous mass of black fourth-dimensional space. In the end with the help of all of the Senshi Sailor Moon is able to force it into the Galaxy Cauldron and everyone who was killed are sent back to their originating planet and time, reincarnated after the battle. However it is indicated that Chaos is not dead and will come back as Sailor Chaos much the same as it did in Sailor Cosmos's future. Sailor Cosmos's future seemed much bleaker than the one painted in the anime series.
Sailor Chaos never appears in the anime, but Chaos appears very briefly in episode 200 being expelled by Sailor Galaxia after she is defeated. Other than this, Chaos does not appear in the anime series, save for references in the Sailor Stars story arc where the name "Chaos" is alternately used with konton, the Japanese word for chaos. Sailor Galaxia ultimately reveals herself as the soldier who sealed Chaos within her own body and thus saved the galaxy. Chaos possesses Galaxia, so that Galaxia can fight the Light of Hope, which is Galaxia's own star seed. But Usagi is able to reach the small bit of hope left in Galaxia's own heart, and she releases Chaos from her body, ending the anime story arc. As well as in the manga, Chaos does not die from this final confrontation; however, differently from the resolve of the manga, Chaos leaves Galaxia to inhabit the hearts of all people, which was stated to be its original residence.
Sailor Chaos
Sailor Chaos represents Chaos reborn. According to Sailor Cosmos, Chaos will emerge from the Galaxy Cauldron reborn as a powerful Sailor Senshi. Sailor Cosmos, frustrated with an ongoing battle against Sailor Chaos, disguised herself as Chibichibi to travel back in time and convince Sailor Moon to destroy the Galaxy Cauldron, and thereby prevent Sailor Chaos emerging to start a new series of devastating wars.
Sailor Chaos never actually appears as a living character in the Stars manga, which displays a vague image only once, as a flash-forward, when she is mentioned. When Sailor Moon descends into the Galaxy Cauldron, she calls upon all the powers of all the Sailor Senshi in the universe and attempts to envelop Chaos but she is repelled at the last moment. However, with the power of all the galaxy's Sailor Crystals as one, the Cauldron is revived and the Sailor Senshi that had been killed were sent to be reborn. However, Chaos is not completely eliminated at this time and will eventually return as Sailor Chaos.
ChibiChibi
ChibiChibi first appears in Act 44 of the manga and Episode 182 of the anime. She appears to be about two years old, and cannot really talk yet: she imitates the ends of others' sentences, and mostly says "chibi". Her red-pink hair is always up in two heart shaped odango with little ringlets sticking out the sides, echoing Usagi's hairstyle. ChibiChibi's name is a doubling of the Japanese term meaning "runt," "dwarf," or "shrimp," and is used both for that reason and because of ChibiChibi's similarity to Chibiusa. It is also a pun, as the word chibichibi also means "making something last".
The Senshi theorize that she might in fact be Usagi's sister, or perhaps her second daughter, or the child of Chibiusa. In the anime, Setsuna states that Usagi herself only has one child, and in the manga, any Queen of the Silver Millennium line will have only one daughter. When Chibiusa meets ChibiChibi (in the manga only), she feels very strongly that ChibiChibi is not hers.
In each series, ChibiChibi is the caretaker of a small, ornate incense burner that releases a scent of fragrant olive blossoms, which the Sailor Starlights gradually recognize as a symbol of Princess Kakyuu. They threaten ChibiChibi and try to take it away from her, and Kakyuu herself is revealed to have been resting inside it, hidden from the evil Sailor Galaxia.
ChibiChibi eventually transforms, under her own power, into a Sailor Senshi. In the manga she is simply named Sailor ChibiChibi, while in the anime she is called Sailor ChibiChibi Moon. Although the reprint of the manga continues to omit the word 'moon', it is added to her name on a sticker included with Volume 12. In the manga, ChibiChibi transforms into a Sailor Senshi by shouting the words "ChibiChibi Crystal Power! Make Up!"This transition is never shown on screen in the anime. In this Senshi form, she carries a heart scepter with what looks like a planetary ring and uses it to defend herself and Sailor Moon. She is not shown using any attacks of her own, but she does increase Sailor Moon's power.
The truth of ChibiChibi's identity is very different in the manga from what it is in the anime, largely because the two series were being produced at roughly the same time. In the manga, ChibiChibi's childlike form is really a disguise for Sailor Cosmos, an ultimately-powerful Senshi from the future. In the anime, ChibiChibi is the starseed of Sailor Galaxia, who had once been a great force for good. When Galaxia fought Chaos, she could see no way to defeat it except to seal it away inside her own
