Renais sat in the grand hall, writing his follow up report for the council on the truce with Ocilen. He scowled at a maid who offered him water, and sent the court jester running as he tried to perform for him. He continued writing, his entire being focused on the parchment in front of him. Someone behind him placed a hand on his shoulder. "Who the..." Renais thought, before he was spun around in his chair to face his opponent. He made no offensive actions, but merely looked up into the eyes of the Knight before him. "By order of the council elders, I hereby dismiss you, Renais, of your position of General and hereby exile you from Sulmtar" the knight proclaimed, more knights appearing behind him. "What!" Renais shouted, jumping to his feet, "The council would never..." but the knight grabbed Renais arm. He grabbed the knights hand, crushing it in his own, the bones breaking with an audible snap. The guard fell back, clutching his hand while the other moved forward to seize Renais. He went to unsheathe his sword, but another knight grabbed his arm again. Renais flipped his wrist around and grabbed his wrist, then grabbed the knights arm. Renais heaved, and flipped the knight into the wall, cracking it from floor to ceiling. Two more approached him, but Renais advanced toward one, planning on killing these men with his bare hands. The two guards grabbed at Renais, but he shrugged them off, then deftly shifted around one of them and snapped his neck. As the guards body fell to the floor, two guards grabbed each of his arms. Renais fought to be free, but found he couldn't. He mumbles "Brisingr" and his arms burst into flames, melting the knights hand into his armor. The two of the reared back, both clutching at their hands. Renais again went for his sword, but was again grabbed by not two, but six knights. He again mumbled "Brisingr" but nothing happened. Renais looked up, looking for an answer that would not come. A man walked into the chamber, escorted by two knights. His clothing was pitch black and not a bit of skin was visible on him, short, and only his eyes shone from under his hood. He began to speak, each world like a death rattle. "Don't resist, it will only make it worse" he hissed, sending a chill down Renais's spine. Renais knew the feeling only to well. This was no man, but one of the... "Yes, I am indeed that of which you think" the man chuckled. Renais froze, taking in this recent turn of events. "Yes, I can read minds. Would you like a treat for your discovery?" the man laughed, his voice high-pitched and merciless. "Knights! Take him away!" He ordered, motioning toward the door with his hand. Renais fought against the knights in vain then screamed, "You can't do this to me! The council would never..." he began but the man cut him off. "I'm afraid I am the council now. They didn't argue, but then again, they won't ever argue again!" the man said, then began to laugh as he finished his sentence. "What?!? NO!" Renais shouted, willing himself to wake-up from a nonexistent dream. Renais began to mumbles to himself in an ancient tongue, his robes suddenly lighting up with various runes along the arms. Renais continued his chant, felling sorry for the people on the receiving end of his assault. The man chuckled again, then made a strange motion with his hand. Renais didn't even have time to decipher the movement as the hilt of one of the knights sword came crashing down on the back of Renais's head. Renais immediately fell unconscious, his body falling limp in the knights arms...

earlier: seeing the farm, and avoiding it he hides in the wheat and watches the inhabitants, move about, as if they were his prey

now: he sat in wait, for the inhabitants to finish and to go into the living quarters, thinking of which to save for the knights to find, recently quadropedded, and report to the counsellor, to tell renais of a shadow, that attacked a farm, or maybe just kill them all, then make a report, disguising himself as a woman, or a child, covered in blood, to the nearest outpost, and leaving them only to find the familys, and their field workers slaves blood drained and used as a kind of twisted ink over the plains surrounding the farm saying *tell renais that a shadow he knows is coming to him, and that if the knights and guards to the temple know what hit them they are ******** genious
