Night

It falls
and I rise
stronger and renewed
hidden in the shadows
as I hide from the light
It falls
and I rise
joyous and alive
clinging to the feeling
when I usually push away
It falls
and I rise
desperate yet calm
heart racing wildly
blood coursing through me
It falls
and I rise
feral and unhindered
fearing no consequence
where consequence should mean most
It falls
and I rise
careless and free
running through this playground
only eight hours deep
It falls
and I rise
satisfied yet somber
savoring the darkness
before the light comes again
It rises
and I fall
frustrated and alone
slipping on the mask
only moonlight can thaw

There's my poem. And...my topic for the next poet is...desire. Have fun!
