I read the Song of the Lioness quartet. I only liked the first two enough to purchase and reread them because I wanted Alanna end up with Jonathan. I like Miles and Jon best.
The Daughter of the Lioness couplet is my favourite books by Pierce. I think that the plot is unique, and the main character having the skills of a spy is very interesting. Kyprioth and Nawat are my fave characters.
I tried the first book in Circle of Magic and didn't like it. I don't think Pierce does a good job of writing tales where there isn't one clearly defined main character.

I love every single one of her books. Every day I thank the gods for my friend who recommended them to me. Every day.
Oh, and you forgot her new series: Beka Cooper, Legend of Tortall. The first one is Terrier. The second one will come out soon, and it's Bloodhound. (At least, I'm pretty sure. sweatdrop )

Sorry, my bad stressed ; there is also Melting Stones, which tells more about Evumemi (I spelled that wrong, I know that. I also know that I have no idea how its spelled sweatdrop ) and Rosethorn. It's set at the same time that Briar and the girls are at the court of the Empress (Read the Will of the Empress).

Did you know that Pierce originally intended to have Song of the Lioness to be a story for adults? Alanna was going to marry Jonathan, and Thom and Roger were going to be in a homosexual relationship. Then, when she decided to make them children's books, she removed the Thom/Roger bit and decided that Alanna wouldn't want to be queen, so she put her with George instead.

I love every one of her books that I've read. My local library has the worst selection of books in the county so I have to go to neighboring libraries to borrow them but I don't really get that many opportunities so I haven't read as many as I'd like. So far I've read: ~full song of the lioness quartet ~Wild magic ~part of lady knight ~Trickster's choice ~part of trickster's queen ~Sandry's Book ~Briar's book ~Daja's book ~Magic Steps ~Street Magic ~Cold Fire ~Shatterglass ~Will of the Empress I'm dying to get my hands on Tris's book especially. Circle of Magic and the Circle Opens are my favorites. My favorite character is Briar. I'm totally obsessed. I stayed up 'till 3:00 A.M. reading some of them (I know I shouldn't but I couldn't resist)

It's funny, I read Tortall first, then asked my friend (the one who recommended them) about the Circle books, and she said they were terrible. Then I accidentilly read The Will of the Empress first, which totally sucked, and ended up loving them all.

You're right, about the one main charater. I like the Cirle of Magic, but the Circle Opens is better...becuase it's focused on one person. I like Brair the best, my friend read a couple pages of Street MAgic, and she likes him too. Kyprioth and Nawat are my favorite too!! They are awesomly possemly! I want Nawat for me. Okay, has anyone read Granddaughter to the Lioness? It's a FanFic... I love it! It's my all-time favorite fic. It's about Aly and Nawat's daughter, and basically everybody children going though training. It's the best!!

Quote: I updated it. i LOVE beka cooper. Well written, and I like how it focuses on her and its impossible to guess the ending before reading it, like in Tris's book where you can just guess that they'll beat the pirates. Quote: I don't think Pierce does a good job of writing tales where there isn't one clearly defined main character. I agree mostly, but I think she still writes well- just not as good.
