Day 7 : The first week of 2009 is over! crying
If you hadn't already noticed, one of the main reasons (other than to celebrate 2009) of this guild event was to get people ACTIVE! If things happen here, people will want to visit more often - especially if there are prizes to be won! So, What other events people would like to see?
Remember : Even if you don't have any ideas, please *bump* the thread, or say 'hello'...you might just win a random prize!
This topic will be locked after 24 hours (after voting has finished). Please check back to vote for the Winner of the Day. We WILL be needing your votes for this one!

For me, I don't think it was so much the prizes that caught my interest as it was just seeing something new on a daily basis. The forums do run a bit slow and it was just kinda' refreshing to see something new everyday sweatdrop I mean, I know that's not all that helpful or anything, but it's kinda' like the "Stop and say hello" thread. You can pop in and out without really feeling obligated to read much other than the first post to feel involved. So I dunno... Maybe a "How was your day" thread or a "Current Events" forum might help?? I don't feel this event was so much competitive as it was just fun I dunno, I'm pretty bad at suggestions, I guess sweatdrop

i liked to come on every day and have something new and nice in the foum. i liked the themes we could discuss. maybe we should make something like "the topic of the week" a little theme to discuss just a small question.

Some things I personally like are weekly competitions or topics to get me thinking, bonding events (like the twin competition we had a while back and the oldies party/ceremony), and seeing what others think about different things (like the advantages to being 21+). 3nodding
By the way, thanks for a great week and start to start 2009! blaugh

I'd like food to be catered to an event-- but on a forum it aint' happening.
Still, I think candy and veggie snacks (for our Diabetic friends smile ) would be superb!

After reading the replies so far, I think I'll leave this one open for a day or two longer. Thank you all for your responses. Feedback (both positive and negative) is what we're looking for! biggrin

Thanks for leaving this open a little longer, I ended not being online yesterday. I like the contest, with or without pizes, but I think my favourite events are ones that we work to gether in pair or small teams. It gives us more of a chance to get to talk to other people on a more intimate level. I for one am not as good in large groups and also am not great at typing, but love to chat with many people in the group, but in large group settings I'm more likely to just read. Trying to talk in groups, my thoughts just get jumbled (like now).
I love the themes, changing our avitars like the fruit day or the tektek day were lots of fun and I would love to do that even without prizes juzt to show guild pride (like the red hats girls). Also some events like the twin avitars were great and I loved Earth week (I hope we'll do that again soon). I know though some of those events can be really taxing for the mods. I also really like group gaia events like the rally meetups we tried and so forth. I would love to make that more formal (though I suppose to do that, I should get off my lazy butt and host some myself).
Additionally I'd love more things like a secret santa, though members of the guild are already pretty good with the random acts of generousity.

This was 100% Sablara's hard work. But given the current things going on for her and me getting credit for not helping out- I did finally chip in and possess Main Man to get some prizes handed out! When the voting and info has posted on more there should be a few more prizes to dish out-- yay.

It's not work - it's fun!
My suggestions : Have a Weekly Poll, a monthly (or Bi-montly) photo comp, and trash the RP sub-forum and make it into a "Book Club" sub-forum. I was meaning to suggest the Book Club thing a while ago - people can write reviews on books they have just read (without giving away the entire story!) and give it a star rating out of 5.
