The series about the teenaged criminal mastermind that works with fairies! exclaim Who's read it? What characters and scenes do you like/dislike most?

I love Artemis Fowl!!! I can't really pick one favorite though. I love Artemis, Butler, Holly, Mulch, and Foaly. Ok, maybe not in that order. I guess that's just about the entire group isn't it. Oh, my favorite part is D-arvit!!! I say it loads irl. Hey, it's not a human curse!!

MINE!!!!!!!!!!! *hordes and hisses at any who approches* He is MINE!!! *maniacal laughter* Though I must point out you forgot Commander Root. I miss him.... *sobs* Poor Holly. Where's BOOK SEVEN WHEN YOU NEED IT??!!!!

Artemis is hands-down my favourite character. After that, it's probably Butler or Foaly.

Book 1 – There’s a unique plot and lots of comedy. Artemis is my favorite villain EVER because he isn't really "evil." I could go on and on about this book...Maybe I'll write more later!

Book 2 – I enjoyed it, especially how Artemis allowed himself to cry for one full minute before acting as coolly efficient as usual.

Book 3 - I think Artemis has the most brilliant scheme in this book. I remember when I was younger and read it for the first time it made me more attracted to him than usual!

Book 4 - My least-fave in the series. With his memory lost, Artemis should act like he does in book one, but instead he's too whiny and immature to be in character. I didn't know it was possible for an author to write their own creation out-of-character, but apparently it is. Although, I will admit that how they defeated Opal at the end was hilarious.

Book 5 - I loved the first three books, and was greatly disappointed with the fourth one, so I'm pleased that this installment didn't let me down. smile

Book 6 – I liked this one, but I don’t know about the attraction between Artemis and Holly. I don't hate the idea, but fairies age differently, so Holly would have to watch Artemis grow old and die. Plus, Holly is only 3 feet tall, so I'm not sure how the two of them would work out in the bedroom either. He and Minerva can relate to each other better because they're both young human geniuses unable to make friends with shallow teenagers their own age.

The only book in the series I dislike is 4. I don't know which I love most...Probably one of the first 3 because Arty with a little splash of evil in him!

Ooh, Emira has competition! Artemis is my second favourite fantasy bloke after Remus Lupin. I would like to point out that he fancies a girl named MINERVA with BLONDE HAIR and GLASSES that can speak FRENCH! (Yes, that's me in real life.) It's okay; you can love him too if you want.

I just know that something weird will happen in book seven.

And I could care less about Minerva. I know Arty fancies her, but it's only passing. twisted And Pardon, Mademoiselle. Escuse moi. Je parle le francais, assui. pfft.

But don't you worry. He's not on the top of my list of guys.

Emira and Minerva, you're both crazy. But then, so am I ninja . I don't have a favorite book either. I read too many good books to have any favorite favorites. But the entire series is one of my favorites. Does that make sense to anyone but me?

I read book 1 but I didn't really feel like reading more. I was kind of satisfied if you know what I mean. Some books that I love I need the sequel right then and there but some I can just leave alone. I really did like the first book. I really like Holly.

You need to finish the rest of the books. Holly and Arty become friends and I absolutely love their relationship. It's so FUNNY!!!!

I really enjoyed reading Artemis Fowl and now I'm reading the series aloud to my little brother. We're on the second book right now, the Arctic Incident, but I'm looking ahead. Does anyone know how to pronounce the demon warlock's name? The name is throwing me off even trying to pronounce it in my own mind. N°1. Yeah. I'm not sure if that will show up right, but you guys know who I'm talking about. So how do you pronounce his name?

Matelia, you read aloud to your younger sibling? That's brilliant; I do too! biggrin Artemis Fowl is one of the series that I read aloud to my 1st younger sister! heart She's 14 and doesn't let me read to her anymore, but that's okay because I read to my 8 year-old sister now instead. wink

I pronounce N°1 as "N degree one" because I think Colfer was emphasising how some math equations are to the nth degree. I could be wrong, of course, but that's how I always pronounced it.

Ok, thanks!

And yes. I read to my little brother. (I really shouldn't call him "little" any more, he's taller than me and still growing.) We started reading actual series with Harry Potter 7 (After listening to HP 1-6 in the car on family vacations), and he wanted another series and so he picked Artemis Fowl. He can't read it himself, but he has a really good imagination, so he enjoys it quite a lot.

It was an okay series. I never read the few latest books. I stopped at 4. My favorite part was decoding the bottom that one time heart

Silver, there are currently 6 in the series, but the first 3 are usually the only ones refered to as "the Mastermind Collection," which I think is strange. confused

DanceKitten and I have actually written note to each other in Gnommish! biggrin

Now I've finished the series. After getting myself to read it, I fell in love with the books. At the end of the last book, I was jumping up and down I was so upset it was over. Thanks for getting me to read these books.
