Hi! smile After being persuaded by several of my friends, I began reading my first manga ever; Fruits Basket! It's still hard to remember right to left instead of left to right, but I'm learning! smile I'm on book 11 (Hiro I think...) and loving it so far. heart I really enjoy all the characters along with the twists and turns in the story. smile I can't wait to discuss my favorite characters and moments in the story with my fellow elves!

YAY!!! *GLOMPS* ANOTHER FRUITS BASKET FAN!!! ^-^ I absolutely love Fruits Basket. I began reading it a few years ago, and it was also my first manga. I now own 1-16...and have read the whole series. The last couple books aren't out in america yet, but you can read them for free, and with no downloads on, mangafox.com
Hmm, your on 11? That's a good spot. The next few books are going to hold a lot of surprises. Wait till you get to #17, you'll be in for a HUGE surprise. ^-^

Definitely one of the best manga series out there! razz Shigure is my fave character, but I also love Haru and Ayame. I'd like to use Yuki for my own evil purposes because he's so sexy. wink

*fangirl squeel* OMG!!!! *dies then comes back from the dead* FRUITS BASKET!!!!!!!!!! *hisses in a possessive fangirl manner* MY YUKI!!!!! *coughs* ahem. excuse me. I love the series, if you can't tell. I have also finished it, via mangafox.com. Thank you internet.... I own the first four books in french 4laugh I bought them when I was in Paris. And I have downloaded a good number of the episodes to my computer, though my collection is not complete. And I think they seriously fisked up the anime, though I suppose it works well enough.

So far, everyone thats voted loves Fruits Basket! Yaay!!!
To those of you who have seen the show, what do you think? Do you reccomend watching?
Emira ~ lol I'm guessing your a big fan too. smile oo! Paris? I've always wanted to go! Whats it like? smile lol and I guess its safe to assume that you're a Yuki fan. smile You finished? Were you happy with the ending? (Don't spoil please!)
Minerva ~ I love Shigure too! Hes so smexy and makes me giggle. smile Haruuu!!!! I envy how calm Haru is... and Ayame is just interesting and funny in general. smile

Just some things I think...
I love when Ritsu went to visit Shigure and said "I wanted to bring you fruit, but I didn't know what kind you like, so I brought you books about fruit!"
I always feel so sorry for Yuki and his past along with Kyo.

KYO?!? WHERE?!? HE IS MINE!!!! Sorry, that was a little out of hand there. I haven't read the manga, but I have seen the show. I have to say I LOVE the show!!! I love the way Ayame is to Yuki. 'I am your older brother, and I order you to respect me!!' He is just soo funny!!! I also think that Kyo and Yuki fighting is really funny. 'Stupid rat.' 'Damn rat.' They're all pretty funny to be honest. I should watch it soon. Maybe I will this weekend.

The last four episodes of the anime are terrible because they tried to end the series before the manga was even complete. I think there's more episodes in Japanese. The rest of the anime is great. biggrin

Although I respect your opinion, I must side with Minerva's statement. I don't think its acceptable to end the show wrongly.
But other than that, it sounds like the show is great! ^^ I plan on watching! smile

Yes. Yuki fan. I have a Yuki hat. whee I prefered the manga ending. The anime was confusing and very stupid, but i suppose it worked. I'll give them a little leeway.
Chief Lover_of_Animals :: You can have Kyo. Yuki is mine. *hisses possessively* Yuki and Ayame's relationship is absolutely hilarious. I just hate Aya's voice actor. Thinking about it now, i hate most of their voices. I think they did a horrid job selecting them.

I love the series and I've read all twenty-two volumes, plus the twenty-third one chapter Epilogue I guess it could be called.
I have to say, I really did love the series after my friend introduced me to it. The ending was the best, even though I read them online, it was just as good but a little harder to read with a few spelling and grammatical errors every now and then.
For my couples, my favorite couple out of the whole series, has to be Hatsuharu x Kyo.
YES I CLAIM KYO AND HARU SO BACK -hisses and snatches the two away locking them in a closet-
You may be saying "eww guy love" or whatever, but like I mentioned before, I am bisexual, plus I think they make the cutest couple. For my favorite Hetero couple, of course it's going to be Kyo x Tohru, especially the last few volumes in the manga. It was so cute how they slowly fell in love, plus all the funny things they did through out manga. Like in Volume fifteen when they had the School Play "Cinderella" at the Cultural Festival, I laughed When Kyo had to be Prince Charming, but I won't spoil it for anyone else who hasn't finished the series or who hasn't gotten that far.
I also loved in Volume twenty-one I think it was, Tohru and Kyo's first kiss! It was quite adorable.
For my favorite Character, I would definitely have to say Momiji or Shigure. I guess because I'm like both of them a lot. I can be a mega pervert at times, I read kinky stories when I'm bored, and I like to embarrass and tease my friends. I can also be like Momiji because I'm hyper, I adore cute things and I can also be loud and obnoxious... Well that's Momiji before volume twenty. Why'd he have to -covers mouth with hands- Sorry Sorry, forgot, no spoiling.
Well I better end my post here before I actually Do spoil it for you all who haven't gotten that far.
Also: I just noticed... it think I'm one of the only guys here D:

I love Fruits Basket!!! I have yet to read the manga, but I have seen most of the anime. One of my best friends has the entire series on dvd. =] Kyo and Haru were my favorites. ^^
