Regulations of Recognitions
If you do something for The Bookcase that benefits your fellow elves, then I'll give you points for it. After a term ends (Terms used to be 6-month periods, but I've decided to make them be 1 year instead.) the THREE elves have the most points will be given a prize. razz Afterwards, all elves will begin with zero points again and another prize will be issued six months from then in January.
It is almost IMPOSSIBLE TO LOSE points. If someone breaks a rule with illiteracy or inappropriate/disrespectful content they might lose points depending on how severe the mishap was.
The same elf can win more than once because if he/she is brilliant enough to earn that many points that many times, he/she certainly deserves it! biggrin cool
I have not decided what the prizes will be; it might be different each time. A monthly collectible is a strong possibility.

Common ways of earning points:
1) Donating to The Bookcase's mule - Elf on a Bookshelf
2) Making Book Covers (banners) for The Bookcase
3) Creating unique/interesting threads to discuss
4) Making a Game/Quiz thread that becomes popular with the rest of the elves
5) Submitting a great contest idea for The Bookcase to use
6) Hosting your own competition (must obtain permission from me first)
7) Participating in contests and other guild activities
8 ) Submitting excellent work to the Oceans of Originals subforum
9) Getting more elves to join (That’s why in the Join Request I ask “How did you hear about us?” so I can give credit to whichever elf deserves it.)
Additionally, every month I will issue 15 points to the elf with the most posts for that month. Posts from the previous month do not carry over. Every elf starts fresh at the beginning of each month with zero posts. Yes, this means that on the last day of every month I click on "guild members" and copy&paste the number of posts onto a document so that I can compare them to the number of posts recorded on a document from the previous month.
Crew members aren't eligile to earn points, so if any of us (Elf on a Bookshelf, Chief_Blackfoot, and I) have the most then I will give the 15 points to whomever has the second-highest amount.
