New years is coming, and we all know what that means; New years resolutions, crazy new years parties, and reflecting on the best moments of the previous year.
Feel free to discuss any of the following: Your new years plans, and your best/worst new years eve... New years resolutions, what yours are, if they're worth it, if you've succeded... Favorite moment that defined 2008 for you... What 2009 has in store for all of us...

Except for when I was very young, New Years Eve has always been a let down, so this year, I've made an effort NOT to do anything. I'm going to stay at home...and play games, or watch a DVD...or something fun! (and yes, that is a fun night in for me!)
My only 'new year resolution' so far is to try speed dating. The internet dating is getting too hard, and, according to the books I have been reading, the guy is supposed to be doing all the chasing. So, I'll sit back and wait for Mr Right (for me) to find me.

Your new years plans, and your best/worst new years eve...
Current plans depend on if I work Wednesday night- normally I should but I'm on the schedule as off- so I need to double check. Not sure about Best New Year's. The last few have been kind of duds...
New years resolutions, what yours are, if they're worth it, if you've succeded...
Normally I don't have a good resolution- but this year I am certain. I'm going to primarily work on improving my punctuality. I never used to be bad about being late- but as of the last couple months I've been late to church, school, group meetings, work, you name it. I'm going to knuckle down because I hate letting people down. I'm also going to try and be more organized.
Favorite moment that defined 2008 for you...
I can't really pick just one because it's like siding between different aspects of my life (ya know? wink ) so here are my three:
-Friends: When talking to my friend Linds on the phone and we debated when does a sock puppet get its soul
-Family: When my brother shook my hand for the sign of peace during Christmas Mass, he's mildly autistic so we don't really touch like normal siblings.
-Love: Before we were dating I wasn't sure if my (now) boyfriend returned my feelings. We were hanging out watching a movie and afterwards went on my balcony to talk while he smoked. At one point he walked behind me then put his arms around me and told me how he felt. Seriously, it was ridiculously romantic.
What 2009 has in store for all of us...
-Fabulous Guild events
-Grass roots support groups for ZoMG addicts and a new wing devoted to the detox of Gaia addicts at the Betty Ford Center.
-Ninjas, because Ninjas make everything better.

I'm in the middle of planning a last minute New Year's Eve party now xd Hopefully, it turns out okay, but I'm good at making my own fun anyway. Just so long as I get my New Year's Kiss, I'm good whee
Resolutions? Hrrmmm... I suppose, I would like to not wait until the last minute to get costumes done for ACen (I do it every year and I NEVER get sleep the day before and I usually make everyone at least 30 minutes late cause I'm still sewing) Also, I'd like to fit back into my size 26 corset... Anything over $100 needs to be worn gonk And, I need to get out of this house and get out on my own... No later than September 2009, with much luck and hopefully a full proof financial plan...

2008 was an all right year for me. I actually started and finished an entire story (this includes a detailed outline as well as writing the actual story) and I've completed about 90% of a second story (which I could finish today if I pushed myself). I don't typically do the New Years celebrating thing, so I may just work on that and try to have it done by midnight. Like Ameliechan, I hope to find a new job in 09, but I'm going to work on my writing and try to improve it. I've already got like 4 different stories in various planning stages and I really want to finish the Star Wars one I started a while back. Exciting. I know. xp Also, this: AntoniaMerEnfant -Ninjas, because Ninjas make everything better.

best of luck to all of you and your ambitious plans for the new year. 2008 seemed to have been quite the horror show for me. my only hope is that 2009 will turn out to be much better. due to the holidays, absolutely nothing has been accepting any applications for employment. but starting next week, i'm actively and aggressively on the quest for a weekly paycheck. i'm also hoping to have the internet in the near future, so i won't have to rely on others to use their computers, meaning i won't have to inconvenience them and keep them from doing the things they do online.
all in all, i hope everyone has a safe and happy new year.

Your new years plans, and your best/worst new years eve...
Well, my new years plans are always the same; I stay home and enjoy an evening filled with video games, a DVD or two, and counting down to midnight with d**k Clark's Rockin' New Year's Eve. Oh yes, I almost forgot! We also, almost always, go to church to celebrate the feast of Mary, Mother of God. (all this with my wonderful, loving family blaugh heart ) Best new year's eve: Staying up to midnight with Daddy and watching Star Wars (because Mom and Steven were sick) and discussing how they created such cool effects. I believe this is what got me interested in animation and filmmaking in the first place. (I can't remember the year, though.) Worst New Year's Eve: Going to bed with the flu and being unable to do anything that we usually do.
New years resolutions, what yours are, if they're worth it, if you've succeded...
I only have to resolutions and I'm not sure if I'll be able to follow through with them to the end or not, but here goes. Try and take my blood sugar levels at least twice a day (morning and evening) regardless of how high or low they are. Try to take an elevator at least once a week to my classes on the third floor.
Favorite moment that defined 2008 for you...
I suppose my favorite moment that defined 2008 for me was seeing Barack Obama elected president.
What 2009 has in store for all of us...
We will have a new president (for better or worse, in some people's eyes it will be worse but not mine) of the USA. I'm sure there's more, but I can't come up with any right now. xd
