There comes a point in time where every child (xD I'm 18... So old) has to decide what they are going to be--- or atleast, what they are going to go to college (Uni, whever) for.

I'm there. DON'T HATE ME BECAUSE I WATCH TOO MUCH TV! >O
Hee <3

Anyway, yeah. I don't know what I want to do with the rest of my life. I'd really love to be a Vocal Performance Major, but... >: I doubt I have the talent. I mean, I've done State Solo competition, and done the whole All-State Chorus, but... Who knows.

If not, I think I'd like to do something with psychology, but the years of school are bleh.

How about you guys tell me what I should do? Or just talk about life and decisions about the rest of it. Seriously, I'm open to talking >> I've no life xD

Wellll I find psychology rather fun. I myself am rather interested in helping people with their problems and maybe have a further understanding of my own. Though if you don't find the subject very fun I wouldn't entirely suggest becoming one, I cannot say the occupation needs another quack.

The arts are always one crazy area to enter with hope. You must have such severe skill to make real money in it. I know I don't trust the art world...they started WWII.

So meh look into it and see what you like to do.

Thanks for the reply. Parts of this guild are eerily dead... Man, I phail at spelling xD

The "severe talent" thing is what scares me. I love music, and I can write it well and sing it slightly better, but, I'd hate ending up being like a Vocal Music teacher or something x.x

Also, luff the name. <3

If you're just getting into college, you don't quite need to plan it up quite yet. One of my friends only decided now what she wants to do with her life, and it's her third year in college. I don't remember when i figured out what I wanna do, but I know it wasn't immediate.

Also, like Odio said, the arts is a daring major.

Pretty Pretty Priceless

Why thank you, I relish in compliments.

On the third year thing, I know about that, after all almost half the crap you take in your bachelor years are general studies....dammit I hate general studies...but I can't help but be paranoid about where I want to go when I am paying so much money on it. Thankfully I do know what I want. XD

And if you don't really got the idea yet all you need to do is look over a common day curriculum and out of college check them out. By the end of your search you'll have a good idea of what college will do for you.

Ugh, I'm 7 months into college and have already switched my major. I was an art major; drawing is about the only workable talent I have. But my art teacher was a major p***k, and really, I don't WANT to be a proffesional artist; it makes art boring.

So now I'm in elementary education, but I don't really want to be an elementary school teacher. What I'd love to be is a home ec teacher, bit there's only TWO schools in the entire US that offer a degree in FACS!

Add to the fact that I'm visually handicapped with no means of leaving to go anywhere on my own power, it makes things hard.

Truth? What I want to be more than anything in the world? I stay at home wife and mother. No joke. Maybe take in a couple of kids as day care for some extra money.

My advice is if you really want to be involved in music, don't let the difficulty or unconventionalty of the arts dissuade you.
I, myself, am an art major, and I know that whether it is music or drawing (drawing is my personal forte), it will take a lot of hard work and practice to be good at it even if I have a little talent, but I also know that I am happier and more passionate about drawing than anything else. Basically, I'm trying to say that it's better to do something you love than something you feel you have to do. After all, you'll be involved with doing it for at least 4 years and then possibly the rest of your life.

So, GO FOR IT! Do what you love! biggrin
