Rules of the Bookcase
We live on bookshelves, so we’re LITERATE! No one gets angry over a forgotten comma, but capitalisation, punctuation, and reasonably good spelling are required in ALL posts. Text talk/chatspeak is forbidden.
Follow Gaia’s Terms of Service. We have members of all ages in this guild.
Be respectful. Do not insult anyone’s race/religion/sexuality/etcetera.
No bumping. This goes along with being literate. A literate person does not only have two words or an emoticon for a post.
No begging. We're here to have intelligent discussions and play fun games; not beg for gold. Questbars are allowed in your signature, which is the only permitted extent.
Your quote for the join request is: "I don’t suffer from insanity; I enjoy it."
Be active. Don’t go an entire month without posting unless you warn your fellow elves in the Bookmark Me! - Incoming Absences thread.
Feel free to host your own competitions in the main forum! smile Simply PM me to obtain permission before doing so and I’ll make the thread into a Sticky for you.
Donations are appreciated, but please make them to the guild mule Elf on a Bookshelf so we can access the money for contests’ prizes. If you donate on the guild homepage we’ll only be able to use the gold to create more subforums.
We prefer our elves to not post in yellow or small fonts because some people may have trouble reading it. You will not be banned for breaking this particular term because it’s more of a request for common courtesy than a rule.
Points are given to elves that do things that benefit The Bookcase. Prizes are issued to the top three elves every six months. For more information see Elves Worthy of Recognition. There's no need to read that before completing your join request.
Warnings are issued to violators of these terms, hence repeated rule-breaking will result in banning from the guild.
