At my school, for a senior project, we have to make a scrapbook. I'm not complaining, but I have no idea where to get a cute book, or embellishments and stuff... X_X; My mom's been trying to help me, but everything leans too far in one direction, and clashes with everything else... Help please? sad

I'm not a scrapbooker, but you could buy a plain scrapbook from a stationery shop and decorate it with stickers. You can get normal stickers at lots of places like cheap emporiums. You can get fancy 3D scrapbook or card making things in the craft section of good department stores. And you could get lace and ribbons from a fabric shop.
That's my experience from shopping in my country anyway, New Zealand.

I thought that maybe I could just buy a plain scrapbook and make a fabric cover for it, with lace around the edges and corset binding... But, I don't know if that would be able to last very long.

Applying Duraseal (self-stick book covering) should help stabilise the cover. I'm not sure if you'd put the covering on before or after your decoration. Maybe both? That way the cover would be resilient and water resistant. It might interfere with the appearance though.

This is my idea for the page itself. <3 I was thinking a white page with black ribbons, or black page with white lace. Which one? o_o; I finally found a book, but it's just plain black with two gold lines going along the spine.

I have recently seen cute scrap books at Joanns. But basically, you can find them at craft stores. There is a story near me called Morning Glory World, and they sell the most adorable stationary and stickers: http://www.mg-usa.com/
At egl, people put together a scrapbook for Angelic Pretty and Baby, the stars shine bright.
My favorite idea was that they put the most extravagant picture for the cover. Create small origami and paste it in the book. hm...maybe rick rack lace would be cute? oh, gather cotton lace around the edges of the book cover and use lace to tie the book shut! Glue on little bows and ribbon flowers.
For a scrapbook about lolita: Put pictures of yourself and friends while wearing lolita (inside your room, at the park, holidays). Paste a picture of your wardrobe.
For the idea above, I would choose white stationary and black grosgrain ribbon. Grosgrain because it looks better then the shiny ribbon, giving it a nicer feel.
