[Hello all, i just wanted to share this true story with you form our guard's rifle line,]
So once upon a time, the rifle line was learning work. The cheerleaders were let out of practice and happened to walk by the rifle line. Now, our rifles are taped [red tape to be specific] on the butt, the belly, and the nose. When seeing our rifles, the following conversation between the cheerleaders took place: Cheerleader 1: "Are those real rifles?" Cheerleader 2: "Oh my god, i think they are!" 1: "Do they shoot?" 2: "I think they do!" 1: "Do they shoot bebes?" 2: "Oh my god! I THINK THEY DO!" They then proceed to mutter while throwing us suspicious glances. When they reach a resonable distance, the rifle line proceeds to start cracking up and they hear us, turn around, and look at like we're acting like the stupid ones. The End.
[I just felt like sharing this story with you all. Thank you for reading] heart

Haha thats funny- i dont think anyone confused our rifles as real ones- im not on flagline but im in winterguard. some members carry their sabres and rifles to class in the hallway and no one says anything. our rifles are just plain white.

that is hilarious!! ive taken my rifle and sabre home on the bus and gotten similar stupid questions.
oh, and our cheerleaders... this is funny... they have flags on the same kind of poles we use, looking like ours and everything. their flags have letters on them spelling out "rebels" (our mascot) and they just run around holding them. but last night at the game, i saw two of them trying to twirl them! one even tried to throw a toss! i just wanted to scream "wannabes!" at them. then followed the conversation with a few friends about 'if we wore short skirts and were skinny and blonde, theyd like us better!'
i dont like cheerleaders.

lol I don't think anyone has ever mistaken our rifles for really ones while they were in plain sight, but I have a wonderful weapon bag that just has the basic shape of the rifle. Whenever I take it to and from school I always see people giving me these really scared looks smile Just the other morning I brought my bag on the bus and the guy sitting next to me, after confirming that it was a rifle bag, asked me "so, if you dropped it, would it go off?" I love it when people do that, it makes me laugh heart

I can remember marching in a Christmas parade in my home town and we were using sabers and our rifles that really auctually looked like rifles. This one little gitl started to scream and was like, "They are going to shoot us mommy, help help!" It was so hilarious!!!!

At my high school, we keep all our equipment in the band room, and I hate when the band kids play with our equipment. It's so annoying when you find them pretending that they're shooting the rifles, like holding someone at gunpoint.
Or when you find them actually fighting with the Sabres. My guard has really nice sabres. like the $200 ones. We had to replace two of them. It really sucked.

haha that was so funny! We have a cheerleader in our guard and we like to tease her about it. I seriously don't think I've met anyone who thought our rifles were real. Ours are taped white.

I have to agree with the fact that cheerleaders think being in guard is easy. Here's a fun story: At our second home football game, after half time show, during 3rd quarter break, some of the cheerleader's were standing nearby me and sum of my guard buddies, and they were talking real abnoxiously loud about how the guard members are so stupid and spinning is easy for them. So, near the end of the quarter, they get back to their flimsy cheering, and we look at them, memorizing their moves, a couple minutes later, the last minute of 3rd quarter, we start cheering their moves in front of the whole audience, and we were like, "yeah, ur moves are too easy, try tossing a 6 foot pole with a shiny silk and catching it in less than 1 count", they looked stupified. and guess what, they changed ALL their routines for the following game, it was hilarious. xD. I'm sure gonna miss being in the guard, but it's ok, i'm planning on trying out for the BLUE DEVILS 8D

It didn't actually happen to us but at a winterguard comp. one time this drumline had rifles for their show and the cops were actually called in to take the rifles away. The police did take the rifles and they drumline had to use their fingers for the guns. In the drumlines show one guy shoots the other guy cause he is hitting on his girl. It's got that whole Godfather theme to it. But I thought it was kinda funny that the police were actually called in over fake rifles.
Our cheerleaders actually agree that guard is hard, they tried to learn some of our flag work during a pep rally one day and only one of them could even do a butterfly, It was hilarious. But we make fun of them a lot. You know they're spiritfingers thing??? We are all the time irritating them by saying, "Finger-spirits girls, finger-sprits" and then we tell them that they aren't doing it right so they get really mad, and then they starts doing they're spins and jumps and stuff and we grab our flags and start spinning and tossing and everything they can't do and then they tell us that we win. We have this saying in our guard group that I think every guard should have: If guard was easy it would be called cheerleading, we can count in increments of four and repeat but cheerleaders only know how to count to ten and then they get confused.
POWER TO THE GUARDS OF THE WORLD!!!
