I'm BAAAAAAAACK!!!
If only to rant and rave.
I was madly excited about the aquarium.. till the anouncement told me I can't buy anything with gold in the shop.
Am I the only one pissed off that all the aquarium items are cash items, and therefore madly expensive on the MP?
And that the monthlies suck so that the Cash Store items ate then times better, but ten times more expensive in cash, and therefor even more expensive in the MP?
What about those of us that don't see the point or cannot budget real money for Gaia? This is hardly fair..
RAWRRRRRRRRRRRR!
Seriously, I get more and more disinterested every day, because the Admins are making joining the Gaian Economy more and more dificult every day for those of us that can't spend $$$.. I feel gouged.

Ahhhhh I am soooooo on you with this!!
I hadn't played Gaia in 2 years ( I am a Vet on this damned thing...I have been here for over 5 years)
and I come back to this new thing with I have to spend cash to get items instead of spending cash to just get monthlies.
It's like Gaia is a just...blah now. I am seriously thinking of giving away all of my items...from 2003 til now and calling it quits.

totally understand.. ever since the MP changed things have gone way, way downhill. it's so hard to get anything cool now that i've mostly given up on questing, because it's just totally unrealistic for someone running on sheer gold and lack of 25 hours a day for gaia.

I concur completely! I made a few protest banners (which people have been snagging up in the main forums, some not giving credit grrrr)   I'm thinking about eventually defecting and starting a new website (if anyone is interested 3nodding ). What keeps me here now is solely the Guild. I take great pride in being a part of such a nice community and an equally nice team of mods. While I have facebook and MySpace, I like to come here to interact with a group of fun adults whom I might not have met in person. But no, I'd enjoy working on a cash-free adult-oriented (not as in xxx but as in sans Emo-teens and bratty kids) rip off of Gaia. With Gaia's traffic volume they have to be making a bundle on advertising revenue-- I'm sure we could so something nice if we had that sort of traffic.

grrr I am just so frustrated with this site. Don't get me wrong. I love the fact there are more people. The advertising...okay...I am okay with a MTV store or a Hills world....or even with the celebrity thing. But a far as the Gaia cash...like seriously? Why not have a system...like MMORPG's (Second Life for example) that you can just BUY gold...instead of special cash? I can understand buying gold if you aren't on Gaia 24/7 because you have a job and a life outside of the virtual one we all are privvy to....but this...is getting too much. like...yeah...I like the aquarium..but what's the point? I can't put it in my house and I refuse to use real money to put fishes in it.

It's all sorts of very disheartening. I agree, fish that die in a few weeks? I have my own fish in my own aquarium in my own apartment that I've managed to keep alive for twelve years,and they were cheaper than some of gaia's fish.

I'm with you all on this, it's really disappointing...I think the aquarium is an absolutely ridiculous idea, they already have enough ways of getting money out of us! I also get really sad about what the MCs have become, but even with all of that, I still like Gaia! This guild obviously is my main focus, and I spend probably 95% of my Gaia time here, but I like lots of other things about Gaia! I really love playing dress ups with my little avatar, I always enjoy the events, and even the games upon occasion! I have to add my two cents too.
Not only am I disgusted with the way Gaia seems to be exploiting children (as we are all adult enough to be responsible for our own finances) but I'm really disappointed.
Spending $2.50 a month (one monthly collectable) is one thing, but they increased that to $9.99 for special evolving items AND cash items which....die. Where are the morals of these people?!!
I'm not at the stage of leaving yet (mainly because I still find this place fun and aviod the brats. Not all the kids are #@%&% rolleyes )

I've been on gaia since 04, and I still love gaia, heck i've even donated in the past, however this cash only for fish is just grrr, Im disapointed, My Betta was cheaper and he hasnt died yet, going strong since April.
What saddens me is the fish's short life for such high money, random fact, gold fish SHOULD live to be 15-20 years old, most fish should live at least 5 years, they only die cus people suck and cant take care of them.
Gaia really dropped the ball on this one.
