In October, the lovlies that brought us Anime Boston will be putting on the Providence Anime Conference. This will be a small convention (they're capping the attendance at 2,000 people, and as of the end of pre reg they only had 300, if that) but what makes this convention unique is that you can only attend if you are over 21. The website makes it clear that it will not just be three days of booze and porn, but instead it is an attempt at a more mature anime convention.

Because of the small attendance, I realize probably no one else in this guild is going. So I was wondering--what do you guys think of a 21+ convention?

My personal opinion.

Rather than an anime convention I'd prefer a normal gettogether, having a onvention for ages 21+ seems a little odd and to be honest kind of stupid silly, also just because it's 21+ doesn't guarantee everyone wil be mature. Legal age is 18+ here in Aus anyway.

I've seen young children (5 or so, maybe younger) at Conventions here and I don't really see a problem with that either, hell I would've been ecstatic to cosplay and go out to a cartoon convention at that age. There's a good chance I'd get some presents aswell. xd
