Can control Shadows. In more depth, he can use any shadow to create a creature of his liking, big or small, powerful or not. He can also use another person's shadows to control them.

Dark, sadistic. Dairen doesn't usually like to talk, either. He's almost entirely anti-social. Not that he cares, anyway. He talks, but not unless it's needed. He's got a 'calm and cool' attitude going, you could say. It's hard to get him to show extreme emotions. He's also sadistic, and sometimes, he can be sarcastic.

The past is the past, and this is mine. . .
Dairen's father abandoned him and his mother, Sylvia, when he was still very young. Sylvia loved him very much, however, and taught him how to be a true demon. However, she was killed when he was still a child by Daniel, the Wind Elemental of the Angels. Daniel, unfortunately, was killed by Sylvia in his battle against her. He swore revenge on the Angels, and has hunted them down since, killing any and all in his way.
He discovered his mother's goal and the reason the Angel Elementals hunted her down. She had been trying to connect the Demon realm with that of the Angel and Human ones in order to have demons rule over the world of Kouderra. He decided to achieve this goal himself, collecting the necessary ingredients, including the blood of the Wind Elemental. At first he was at a loss on how he was going to be able to achieve this.
Until he met Alex.
Luck clearly with him, he befriended the boy and got to know him, making mental notes and ways to exploit the boy's harsh past (which he could only assume was a part of Sylvia's curse). He used what knowledge the boy had absorbed from reading and the connections he had with the Yalurian Knights, always under the eyes of the boy's insufferable guardian Tohru Kiroi.
However, the boy turned out to be useless, and so he attempted to dispose of him. He failed as Alex managed to escape the near-fatal injury, and was heavily injured by Tohru when he came to Alex's rescue, losing sight in his right eye. Angered, Dairen placed a curse on Alex that would eat away at his heart, so that even if Dairen failed to kill the boy quickly, he would suffer a slow, painful death.
