What do I have to do?
It's very simple really. All you have to do is design your very own manga/anime character. The design must be completely original and may be a bust or full body drawing (or even both!) It can be in colour or in black and white, pencil or CG, male or female; there are absolutely no limits on what you can do, as long as the work is entirely your own. You may, if you wish, add notes on the character's personality, however, these will not be judged.
What Are The Rules?
+ The work must be your own. You aren't allowed to seek outside help or steal ideas/images from other people.
+ The character must be original. Don't elaborate on an existing character.
+ Only one entry is permitted per person. (Excluding a select few members- Details below)
+ You must be active within the guild to remain eligable for the prize.
+ A minimum of 20 members must take part in order for this competition to be judged. Remind other members to enter before the closing date if you want to be in with a chance of winning a prize.
What are the Prizes?
First Place: 50,000 gold
Second Place: 10,000 gold
Third Place: 5000 gold
Who are the judges?
Myself (Cheremy LeBeau) and meGgi e s t A e R I a will be judging this competition. We will discuss each entry in detail and come to a unanimous decision on who we believe should take first, second and third place.
The competition closes on September 1st but may be extended if an insufficient number of entries is received. PM all entrie to me before this date, and feel free to post questions in this thread.
Information About The Extention
Why has the closing date been extended?
As the rules stated, the contest "may be extended if an insufficient number of entries is received". As we did not receive the requested minimum of 20 entries, I have decided to extend the closing date even further. An extra four weeks has been added in order to enable more members to submit their entries. This time, the contest with definitely end on the specified date, however, if we still fail to total 20 entries, the prize money will be halved.
How Is This Fair To The Members Who Entered on Time?
Naturally, we appreciate the efforts of those who worked hard enough to get their entries in on time. Therefore, members who submitted entries by September 1st are eligable to submit yet another entry that the judges with judge separately. Alternatively, you may withdraw your previous entry in order to improve it and resubmit it. This will certainly give you a slight advantage, but you're under no obligation to do so; if you're happy with what you've given us, you're free to sit back until the end of the month.
How Can We Help?
There's only so much the mods can do as far as promotion goes, so it's really down to our faithful members to help us spread the word about this contest. Encourage members to enter and perhaps even recruit friends of yours who are also keen artists. It may seem unusual to recruit competition, but what's a little competition when half the prize money is at stake? Do us proud, people!
When's The Latest We Can Submit Our Entries?
The competition closes at exactly 00:00 GMT on 1st October, so adjust the time accordingly depending on where you live. Absolutely under no circumstances will I accept late entries, whether you live 12 hours ahead in New Zealand or 10 hours behind in Hawaii. To ensure you submit your entry on time, try to get it in before the closing date.
