Since all the previous picture threads have gone to the land of forgotten topics, I figured a sticky picture thread would be nice. Come out and show us your lovely faces, garb, friends, or anything else SCA related!

I'm in a geek girls pin-up calendar...and I'm history geek.

No lie.

I'm totally excited, and, while my garb isn't too terribly pretty yet, I'm working on it. My blue surcote of doom project is driving me bonkers.

Well ... don't hang me! *cringes* But I still wear my corsets on the outside! sweatdrop

I'm in the process of working on my Turkish/Persian persona though. I've bought the material, but have yet to find the time to get it made. gonk

Yes, I know - I've been in 3 years now, I REALLY should come up with better garb ... but I'm trying! sweatdrop (But I also like this garb ... It's fun ... But I don't always wear a bodice. This past event it was just easier to wear the chemise and skirt).

Yep, that's embroidery. I've been doing Celtic-style embroidery for about six years now and have 12 pieces of embroidered garb.

The hair is actually a wig that I found that has many, many braids. Since the literature tells us that Celtic women wore their hair in elaborate braids this seemed like a fun way to do it. And I thought the grey in it looked a bit as though it had been limed like the Celts were known to do.

Sure. Here's a link to a page with pictures of some of my embroidery including some closeups of the embroidery on the yellow dress.
