I Brain-Ninja-ed you

PostPosted: Mon Aug 04, 2008 8:21 am

Right now I have no Lolita clothes, I have a shirt that is Loli-esque, but no skirt to match. Currently my hair is way to short, so I was thinking just to save up money to buy outfits, and wait for my hair to grow.

So instead I'm thinking of Lolita-ing up my room and other things. I just don't know how to go about it, and what colors and styles to do things with. There are somethings that I can't do anything to like my bookshelf or entertainment center.

My room currently has a green theme and I'm going to try to play along that.

No, I did not take a picture of my bed. It's in between two of the pictures.

There's a sort of "tutorial" on EGL that talks about decorating you room to match your style. It's not completely lolita-specific really, but it should give you an ideal on what you can do to make it work:

Hope it's of some help or inspiration! (:

Thanks for the link.

Hmm... I think I'm gonna make little curtains for my shelves and entertainment center so I can hide any non-Lolita items. I'll leave one or two shelves open/pulled back to show off Lolita items. And I might bring back some of my porcelain doll collection. I have 20 of various shapes and sizes.

One of the hard parts in my bed is a futon, it stays on the floor, if it's not I fall and break something (I'm such a klutz redface ! And it has happened.).

Depending on what style you choose, you could create a faux canopy for the futon by screwing rods into the wall and letting light fabric drape from them. Or, failing that, you could find some of the decorative "mosquito netting" tents that are sold in decorating/knick-knack stores like Bed, Bath & Beyond to give it a bit more flare. (:

Sounds like fun!

You are just full of great advice!

I'm planning on doing the faux canopy in my new apartment. I bought a pre-built set that just needs to be screwed into the wall. It has sheer material in a light violet color that matches my coverlet and sheets. (:

I'm not going for a lolita room, personally, but it's something that could easily be used if someone did want to do it. So. Thought I'd suggest it!
