Hopefully this thread will revive this guild. lets face it. no ones been on, no ones talked, theres been absolutely no argueing about which hero is better (batman is), and basiclly no ones even remembered they are in this guild. WHATS WRONG? do you not want to be in a group of people who are like you and like the same stuff you do? W/E.
How many of you have heard of the comic-con? Its coming to my city on october 11th. it going to be my first one. i know thats sad but listen to this. i was going to go to my first comic-con 2 years ago, but my auntie went into the hospital and i couldnt go. last year i was going to go again butthis time I got sick and couldnt go. This year ill definitly be going no matter what but i want to know what to expect? HELP ME PLEASE!

Eh i don't usually go to those big gathering things.
I like to keep my gatherings with about 2 or 3 people in the comforts of my garage.

YAY! this guild isnt dead yet. At comic cons there are going to be so many people who like the same stuff i do, so many comics i could get, and a whole bunch of action figures (not dolls)!!! I'm gunna get to meet a whole bunch of batman fans just like me! All of my friends at home, dont really like comics. I have yet to find someone, other than the people at my local comic and colectables store, who like DC or any other comic for that matter. Some of my friends don't even know what kryptonite is. Like, WTF!

Sorry for not postin' sweatdrop , I've been kinda busy with my senior year in high school startin' and all, anyway, no i haven't been but i wish to go, it's just my friends and I usually go to anime cons and it kind of wipes us out of money, but I'd love to go some time.

OMG! i went to wonder-con in san fran last year, it was AMAZING!!!! i wish i had a costume at that point, but this year i'm going to the one in san diego for the whole week, hopefully i'll be able to stalk zachary quinto if he's there...yes, i am a crazy stalker fan-girl...any way, its awesome! go! wear comfy shoes and bring money for fan-gear/comic books and a camera, you'll want pics

I might actually be going to the New York Comic Con of 2010, classes, weather, and funds permitting!
I'd like to see this guild more active myself, but sadly Gaia seems a bit too obsessed with Twilight and crap instead of comics. I weep for the future crying
ANY WAY...
I've been to Anime Expo, but I have the impression that most cons are the same. Cons are great, but bring cash, and lots of it. You are going to see things. AWESOME things. AWESOME and EXPENSIVE things! There are going to be Artist! Artists every where, selling awesome prints and taking commissions (and they're usually starving artist, so they'll do pretty much any thing you ask if you have the cash. Want a picture of Batman, Bruce Springsteen, and L from Death Note having tea? Odds are you'll find an artist who'll do it for you).
Bring a camera! Cosplayers abound, and you are going to want to take pictures of them to post on the internet to mock and/or go "HOLY CRAP HOW CAN HER BACK SUPPORT THAT CHEST?!" and/or gush about how amazingly awesome and accurate and cool their costume is.
Next, come the events. Panels are actually a LOT of fun and can be extremely informative. Shows are awesome. If there's a Masqurade? Go. They can and will be awesome. If there's a party? Go for it! You're surrounded by your own breed of nerds so its not like a crappy high-school dance: They're actually FUN! Movie showing/premier? Get in line early @_@ It will get INSANE.
I suggest bringing a friend or two along, though. It can get a little lonely out on the Con floor, plus its nice to have some one watch your stuff if you go to the bathroom...
Also, be prepared to meet a lot of neat and interesting people! You might want to make a new e-mail account to give out at the con to new friends, just in case they turn out to be kinda creepy or weird (I'm not trying to be a jerk, but its happened to me before).

I went to NYCC in Feb '07, it was loads of fun. Funniest part was I was at the hotel closest to the convention so I was able to walk back and forth. I went with my buddy, he found some bootlegs of cartoon series and watched those pretty much the entire time we were there.
I got autographs, numerous manga and different comics. I'm thinking about going to the 2010 NYCC, probably just by myself. I believe it'll be held in Oct instead of Feb which will be nice. Hopefully get the same hotel and go from there.
