Somehow, I can't believe this doesn't have a topic yet. . . If you don't know, Furuba is a nickname for the manga/anime "Fruits Basket" The Net Says Tohru Honda is 16 year old orphaned girl who gets invited to live in the house of her classmate, the handsome boy Sohma Yuki, and his cousins, 16 year old Kyo and 27 year old Shigure. However, these young men and parts of the rest of their family (both close and distant) hold a curse; if they are hugged by the opposite gender, they transform into animals of the Chinese Zodiac. Everyday is an adventure for sweet Tohru, as she gets to know everyone in the large family better (especially Yuki and Kyo), in both common and bizarre situations. But, the Sohma Family curse is certainly no laughing matter... it also holds horrible cruelty and heartbreak. I read about two volumes of it a while back and thought it silly, but I got curious again and started re-reading, and now I'm totally and completely hooked. I love it - it makes me laugh and cry and be completely and utterly embarrassed I'm even reading it. If you love it too, don't be shy! speak up! What do you like about it? Who's your favorite character? pairing? Randomness? I think one of my favorite characters is Hanajuma - she just makes me laugh. X3 Kyo's also up there. I hear a lot of people hate him, but I can't help but like him.

Fruits basket was the first manga i started reading. I love it. its gets a little boring later but it'll get intresting again. I own all the mangas that are out. My favorite characters are Rin, Haru, Kyo, and yuki's brother... I forgot his name. sweatdrop I really hope that Tohru and Kyo get together. My favorite paring in the manga is Haru and Rin. They make such a great couple. I have an idea of how the manga might end but its just a guess. I hope i'm right. btw I really hate the anime.

What do you like about it?
Honestly, I don't know what I like about it. I think it has something to do with the fact the characters can be easily related to, some of them anyways. And there's a lot of funny moments, and a lot of cute moments. And of course the moments that made you want to cry.
Who's your favorite character? pairing?
My all-time favorite character is Hatsuharu, that boy's sense of humor is great, I think. I like his personality a lot too, like when he came looking for Kisa, it showed that he was really kind. And Black Haru.....xD; I like how he's quiet (White Haru), yet always manages to speak him mind. And I love seeing other character's reactions to him, especially those not in the Sohma family, they're always so shocked, and yet Haru just seems completely indifferent to them, he's one of those characters that's just who he is, and is not afraid to tell it like it is. Ahhh, Haru's pretty awesome in many respects. His relationship with Rin is so sweet as well.
My other favorite is Yuki, for many reasons.
His story is relatable to me, the whole family issues thing, and being afraid to run away from it all, yet afraid to face it. I also feel really badly for him in several respects, he has such a hard time, yet no one notices, because he keeps a cool and calm facade, being that's how he was raised to be. I also just find him an enjoyable character, and sad that he's been denied happiness so many times in his life. ;;
I also find it ridiculous that so many people hate on him, yet say Kyo is awesome. I mean, sure if you like him more, but I find it irritating when people claim he's a stupid, whiny "girly" boy that needs to die. He's not, he's just looking for where he belongs, last time I checked there was nothing wrong with that. Plus, Kyo and Yuki aren't that different, what makes one so lovable, yet one so hate-able? =/ I personally find it the other way around, Yuki enjoyable, and Kyo annoying, though, I don't hate Kyo, he's just taxing to me, with that temper of his. (His fandom doesn't help any at all Dx )
Randomness?
Uhhhh. Yes? What about it?
I found the anime amusing, but it's also what kept me away from the manga for so long, I thought the anime was retarded, and decided to never pick up the manga. Then out of boredom I did, and enjoyed it after the first ten or so volumes. Now I can enjoy the anime (sort of) for it's silly moments. But that's about it.
OH YEAH.
I enjoy slashing Haru and Tohru (ish shot by Kyo-fantard)
And Yuki and Machi? So cute. ;;
Momiji/Tohru's a pretty sweet slash.

Hm. I guess what got me into reading is the story. I was a bit younger when I started reading this, and I loved fluffy love stories and such back then; so it's not a wonder how I got hooked. I still adore this series up until now, however.
Who's your favorite character?
Flying Pot Kakeru Manabe FTW. He's hilarious and so carefree, and I obviously like that about him. Other than that, I also love how he thinks of them student council members as Power Rangers.
Hatsuharu comes in second. meGgi's reasons for liking him pretty much sums up my feelings as well, so I won't be saying anything else since I might just be repeating what has been said.

Haru/Rin. o 3o
In terms of crack pairings, I ship Kakeru/Yuki. Don't ask.

I really like Yuki too. At first I thought he was kinda. . umm. . .hmm - odd, flat, stuff like that. But once he starts cracking it's great. I love finding more about his character and stuff. I guess I just like Kyo because I relate to him a lot.
Oh yeah, I totally support Kisa and what's-his face. The sheep - I can never remember his name. <3

I'm taking it there's a reason you're saying flying pot, and I haven't discovered it yet in the series xD;
Yeah, he's pretty awesome, I love the part in the 15th volume where he and Yuki argue, it got me laughing, and how before then he'd drive Yuki insane during the meetings. Ahhh, good times, good times.
