Okay, so am I the only VGer who is addicted to video games? They're not just for children anymore! My husband and I have a huge collection of games and systems, and we (just today) completed our collection of next-gen systems by buying a PS3 bundled with Metal Gear Solid 4.
I'm also playing Grand Theft Auto IV, and we've almost got Assasin's Creed beat. Not to mention my unhealthy addiction to anything Harvest Moon... I can't wait for the Wii version!
I have to say that my favorite new system is the Xbox 360 though.
So... let's discuss! What is your favorite system? Your favorite game? What are you playing right now? What are you slavering over while waiting for a release date to come?
As for me, my current favorite game is... Harvest Moon: Magical Melody (for the GC). But that is subject to change on any given week.
Favorite system: Xbox 360.

My favorite consoles are the PS2 and the N64. My brother has a Gamecube, but I never get to play it. I am not to much of a fan of handheld games for some reason.

I've got a PS2, that's about all I have though lol. I do have PC emulators though... do those count? If so I've got the Turbo Grafx16 Emulator, I love the Bonk games... does anyone even remember this system?? Go figure it's an NES console lol.
But honestly... I've been playing old DOS games as of late... Might and Magic World of Xeen to be exact! 3nodding
Can't wait until Diablo III comes out though! twisted That game looks like it's gonna totally rock! 4laugh

I've always been a fan of games! We had a Sega Genesis back in the day, but not many games for it, and my bro had a Gameboy for a while, but I never really was allowed to play it. It seems like the consoles are always "his" and I have to wait until he's done with them to play them. Ah well.
My favorite consoles are N64 and PS2 (altho I only have PSone). Also, some PC games.

i'm a big video game nerd! right now i'm in the middle of a buncha games. Odin Sphere is really really good, GTA 4 of course, i tried to start Rogue Galaxy but i'm not entirely sure if i like it yet. i play final fantasy 11 every day just about, my b/f and i are working on FF Tactics and about 18 other games we keep not finishing lol
we just finished silent hill 2, and i want to replay the xenosaga series really bad cuz xenosaga 3 is omg so cool x.x

Games are my thing. Recently Ive been into the MMO scene playing Guildwars and Rappelz.
We own:
PS, PS2, PS3
SNES, N64, Wii
SEGA Genesis with SEGA CD attachment
and we have 2 DS's in the house used to be three but I sold mine to a fellow gamer who really needed some new fun.
I love the FF series and all Zeldas cept for windwaker.
Dynasty Warriors too.

Rikkulian my b/f and i are working on FF Tactics and about 18 other games we keep not finishing lol I had FFT for awhile. Then I lost it sometime during the move. I think my stuff keeps getting teleported around, because there is no explanation as to how I lost that. I mean, sure, I can explain away more than half of my games as being stolen by this asswipe I used to be friends with, but I had FFT just last year, in my old apartment. The place was cleaned spotless, and none of my stuff I had lost turned up. Grr. Anyway, to what I was getting at, I had Ramza (I think he was around level 50 or 60 but you can't be sure. May have been higher than that) as a Monk. ...With Two Swords. And he had this at about 74% completion of the game. Needless to say, my enemies never laid a finger on him, unless it was magic. But even that was hard because I had Fly on him, and numerous speed increasing items. He was a monster. The final boss was too easy, unfortunately. She never hit me. Not once. Ramza and Cid and a one other character who did around 400 damage a strike went to town on her. Ramza with his double 999 hits, and Cid with his 800 strikes as well, they easily did 3200 damage every single turn. XD I started up Legend of Legaia awhile ago, but never finished it, and tried FF7 again, leading to a hilarious series of screaming at the disc to work, and it actually working (Dew was there). For some reason, I'm level 60 in that game, on the third disc, and my characters are only doing 2000 damage a strike. With Cloud and his occasional 8000 damage, and a few of my characters somehow doing under 1000. I spent most of Disc 1 getting EVERYONE'S final limit breaks as possible. Everyone had either their second level 3rd or their 4th limit break (including Aeris - hers were badass) before I fought Jenova Life. Whom, needless to say, I pounded to a bloody pulp. Still think that Cloud should've had his limit break all the way up at the start of the fight. Or at the very least, Fury or Berserk on him. You know, for watching his other girlfriend die. Poor, poor Tifa. Anyway, figured I'd say something for the topic, just 'cause. Even though "otaku" roughly translates to "Girl Nerd" in Japanese. Because I have no life. <3

Also, I only liked Dynasty Warriors 3 and 4. I have DW 5 Empires, and frankly, it wasn't worth the 20 bucks I paid for it. The entire game is completely redundant. There is hardly even a change in "strategy." Besides, just get Lu Bu and you can pull off One-Man defenses or offenses once he gets to be a higher level.

According to Japanese for Dummies, the word "otaku" used to be used to mean "your family or your household." Now it is used to refer to someone who is obsessed with something. At least according to the book. 3nodding
I got all giddy when you said Sega Genesis. whee Sonic the Hedgehog... heart I also really liked the Aladdin game for the Sega Genesis for some odd reason. It was highly addicting. I am having old school gaming craves right now.... must.... play.... old school!!! whee

*Salivates* Oh man... The hubby and I are SO dying to play Fable 2 since the new videos came out. Must... wait... longer! gonk
Artistic Autism- Woo! *High fives* Another person who loves the Zelda games but doesn't like Wind Waker! I thought everyone was crazy when the reviews came out for that game. The only good thing about it was that I got a new copy of Ocarina of Time with it. lol
Chibi- I never knew the proper translation for Otaku. I remember the first time I heard it used though, Metal Gear Solid when Otakon explains what it means to Snake. XD

When you said Snake, it made me think of Escape From New York. blaugh
I didn't like the style on Wind Waker as much, but I still enjoyed it. As you had said, Master Quest was the best part! xd You can only play Ocarina of Time so many times before you can beat it in your sleep. Master Quest was a nice twist because I actually had to think again. For some odd reason, I got kind of lost in the Fire Temple. lol

Oh man, I was so obsessed with OCOT for a while there. I actually played it twice, and got EVERYTHING the second time through, including all of the Skultellas. xd
I still need to beat Twilight Princess. It's so weird though, I popped it into my Wii to play last week and was bowled over by the horrifically jaggy graphics! I was like "Wait a second... This game isn't that old!"
I guess I'm spoiled from my 360 and PS3 now.

I still don't have any of the new generation consoles yet. sweatdrop However, when I get the chance, I would really like a Wii. My second console to buy would be the PS3, but I don't really have that much incentive to buy it as there are currently no Final Fantasy games for it yet.

Diablo III is coming out in like January!!!! OMG I can't wait!!!!! twisted
From the previews it looks like it's gonna be so totally awsome! They even have both genders for each class! Definitely a plus!
