Hello Everyone!
I just joined this site a few weeks ago and I'm so glad to have found this guild to meet people closer to my age. All the kiddies are making my eyes bleed.
My name is Sarah but you can call me Ponks or Ponkie as well.
I am twenty-three and I live in the Chicago area.
I have a degree in photography -- which isn't serving me very well as I am currently unemployed....
I love making things and my hobbies include: bookbinding, knitting, card making and crochet but I'm also looking for new creative outlets.
I also love reading and some of my favorite authors include Neil Gaiman, Philip Pullman, George R. R. Martin, Robert Jordan and Ray Bradbury.

Welcome! When I saw your request I immediately thought "oh no- she's my boyfriend's perfect soulmate!"
David, (or sn Yonsan on here, I bugged him into joining) got me into the Sandman series. Needless to say I am very delighted with Mr. Gaiman.
It is a shame your photography degree isn't doing much- I love and respect the artform. At least I won't be the only one in the guild drooling over digital SLRs and their accessories. Then again... drool could be bad on the lens.

I actually haven't read any of the Sandman series yet. Hopefully I'll be able to find some cheap copies sooner or later so I can experience the greatness that I'm sure it is.
And yes, photography...It's just such a competitive field...and I feel I'm not a big enough jerk to make it. Hopes for the best. If you ever have any questions about photo don't hesitate to ask! Oh and I spend more time drooling over film cameras XD I don't think I'll ever get over my love for film (even though I have a super nice digital, it's must not my fav).damnatio memoriae Hello! I was attracted by the cuteness and couldn't resist joining!
Anyway, I haven't really been keeping up with many craft related blogs/sites. But I do get CRAFT magazing (craftzine.com) and I do frequent etsy.com - but I've never sold anything there *shy* Do you have a shop there?

I have a shop, but it's been empty for a bit now. I'm just not motivated at the moment. I typically just spend a lot of time browsing. whee I love Craft mag and got to attend one of their release parties here in Atlanta, which was a blast!

I'm jealous you got to go to one of their release parties!
My bf has been a MAKE fan since it came out I think and he got me started on CRAFT with the first issue. So good.

I wish I was good at knitting and crocheting, but I never really got the hang of them and found them very frustrating, ehehehe. sweatdrop If you ever feel inspired, you could post some pictures of some of your projects in our art forum. biggrin I don't think we have much for crafts in there yet, so it would definitely be a welcome addition. smile
