Hey everyone!
I've been curious. I've been into the Hime Gyaru for quite some time now, but I'm a true lolita admirer at heart. Though, lately... i've been thinking...
I would like to tryout some hime gyaru stuff...
I guess the transition is quite big... but not so much, for they still contain the same concept. Hime Gyaru is a bit more classy than the other gyaru sects and focuses on the more charming views of life... although there is the HAIR issue...
It can be easily dealt with (with the help of mom).

Although I would like to know your ideas of compare and contrast from the Hime Gyaru and Lolita... more closely on the rococo or hime lolita.

I mean they have many similarities but as many of you will notice, there are also a TON of differences

For those that don't know about Hime Gyarus, here is an example.

I just wanted to post some of the hime gyaru shoes and stuff because I think they are just soooo unique and adorable!

SO TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK smile even if its not a compare and contrast... just an opinion on the style.

I've always loved Hime Gyaru hair.. it must take forever to do.
I'm too too big on lightening your hair and tanning your skin, though.

From what I understand, a good portion of hime gyarus with the hugehuge hair actually wear wig pieces in back, instead of styling their own hair like that. I've seen more western girls doing the style with their natural hair than I have Japanese gyaru.

Probably something to do with the texture being different? Dunno. I love hime gyaru hair with lolita, though. It just makes it that much more dramatic and looks great with tiaras or bows.

Even though it's popular, you don't have to lighten your hair color for himegal. Some Japanese himegyaru have their naturally black hair or dark brown hair. And also, tanning isn't really a must for himegal. If anything they'd just put on makeup or tanning makeup to give them a little bit of that golden look in their skin.

What exactly is Hime Gyaru? I look at those pictures, and the first thing that comes to mind is " Japanese Dolly Parton". All that huge hair and those country dresses, I can't help to think otherwise. On another note, it looks similar to general lolita because of the decent lenght skirts and refined design, but lacks a petticoat. General lolita has less of a modern feel to it, with what it being based on Victorian fashion.

Though I would never ever wear Hime Gyaru, I am actually a fan of it. Ha. Yeah. I think it's cute. Though the hair is gigaaaaantic.
I think that there are some strange things that the Japanese people do within their fashion sub-cultures that few Western people could pull off, you know?

I dunno, speaking that they take most of their s**t from the Western Culture, I'm sure others can do it if they really tried.

There are some gorgeous Western himegyaru.

I don't like the hair. It looks too county. That may be the point, but I just don't think it looks good. I agree about the lolita w/o the petticoat part. It looks more like a little girl, but less doll like IMHO. If that makes any sence. the shoes have too much to them and then are sandles that show the toe which don't have the inosence of lolita shoes.

Yeah I actually debated because I still have to dye my hair red (i blame current events TT3TT which is kinda sad at this point). And I looked up more pictures and I did see a few burnettes which kinda makes it just as cute.

My mom actually played with my hair a few weeks ago making it hime gyaru because supposivelyl she was sooooo into POOFING hair like that when she was a teen ._o ha ha ha good for me i guess XP

Well I've also seen some of the gyarus with no or very little tan. Isn't it another type of gal that has darker skin type. From what I hear gyarus are the lighter kind of gals... generally...

I might be wrong...

Well hime gyaru if you keep looking at references is more like the modern lolita. They do wear more modernish clothes. Infact, if you look at the lolitas who wear two pieces (skirt and top) the tops are more modern. Ranging to halter tops camis but somewhat floral or "binged out." Dresses are not all this fancy actually. Some are just very elegant, the type you wear to cocktail parties and go out in the evening.

They are similar to lolitas because many do wear lolita brand clothes. I've seen one in an MM outfit smile which was totally cute!
I think some wear pettis... not sure and they do like the "classic and classy" lifestyle so there are the same but diferent smile

I think this is where the hime lolita and the hime gyaru get constantly confused when compared and contrasted
