I remember this subject being brought up maybe once or twice in the past in a thread, but I don't remember which thread it was.
And, I'm not expecting anyone to immediately answer as I'm not sure how often this section gets checked, nyaa.

Anyways...
I really want to get started on making some Lolita pajamas. Whether it be a night gown or a cute bloomer and shirt set. So, can anyone offer some help on this, nyaa?
Any and all answers are appreciated, nyaa. 3nodding

Exactly what are you looking for? Patterns? Tutorials? Inspiration?

Baby regularly puts out pajama sets and nightgowns and has a few on their site currently, if you want inspiration.

I was thinking that tutorials would be best, nyaa.
I've been browsing BABY's pajamas, and they're cute, nyaa. I really liked the bloomers ((except maybe not the ruffles that were on them)) with a shirt that matched, then I also liked one of the night gowns, nyaa.

I am going to try to make my own pair of lolita PJs. But I'm using this cute icecream PJ set that I got for $10. I bought a cute white cutsew at a thrift store that I'm going to use for the top and I'm going to convert the PJ pants into long bloomers. Then I plan on using the excess material and making cute appliques, ruffles, and bows on the top. I also want to make a round poofy night cap to go with it.

I haven't started yet, but I don't really need it done till the end of Sept when I want to wear it to a con. If I deciede that I want it for the next con I'm going to that is in July, I might start on it sooner. confused

Dunno where you can find a tutorial for a top, but here's one for a night gown:

http://community.livejournal.com/egl/4609527.html

You could shorten that to be about mid-thigh or knee length and then make bloomers for underneath:

[Also, could you stop with the 'nyaa' additions, at least while you're in this guild? It's incredibly obnoxious and makes it very hard for me to want to take you seriously in the least.]

[Sorry for it being taken like that, it's become a bit of a habit. But, AmaniKitty, you didn't have to be so rude with your comment.]

Thanks for the links, they're greatly appreciated. 3nodding

For the top/night gown, I think you should be able to modify it fairly easily. It's a very basic pattern. It should also be easy to add embellishments to it, like bows or ribbon or lace if you want it to be fancier.

The link inside the link for the bloomers isn't working. ((Did that make sense?))
Also, I figured that adding little decorations likes bows and lace would be easy enough to do. What kind of fabric would be best for this?

Ahhh. In that case, you'll have to give me some time to draw you diagrams. Making bloomers is easy as pie, but you have to get things measured out a certain way that I'm not sure I can talk you through.

They're more or less a pair of loose shorts with elastic in the leg, though. So. It's not that difficult.

Ah, I see. I'd never tried to make bloomers before, so I guess now is a good time to start. Although, this project will probably be put off a bit until i get a job ((I'm in the process of filling out the application)) and I can have some extra money to but fabric and such so I can do more projects.
Although, the one I'm working on right now is pretty simple. I'm making a bunny backpack, and I only started today. It's about half way done, so I'm excited as it may be done before Friday, which is when I'm going to the movies with my almost-boyfriend, so I'm excited.
Although, I am having difficulties with deciding on decorations for Usa-chan's ears. I want to hide my hand stitching that I have to do to seal her up at the ears, and I was thinking that maybe I could add some ribbons, but I'm unsure. Or, maybe some lace bows would be nice as well.
((Okay, i think I'm done ranting about my cute little bunny now, heh heh...))

thanks so much on the bloomers link. heart
that will help me a lot since I have never made them either.
I found another PJ set at a 2nd hand store that is the print of fabric I had in mind when I first wanted to do this, so I might make 2 sets. wink
