So we were planning on having a "Hell week" For our drum line some time, or just having Drumline work out days because we are all fat and lazy and complain to much about having to carry our instroments. (every day after marching practice the basses ask the cymbals to carry their instroments for them) and i was wondering if anyone did something similar and wanted to give us some pointers on what exactly we should do. Thanks! heart

Here's what our BD makes us do when he's in a particularly pissy mood:
1. A single mistake by anyone, and everyone runs a lap around the gym/school depending if we're outside or inside.
2. If there's no enhusiasm in your playing, you get in a line and do jumping jacks until the BD is satisfied.
3. Push ups, sit ups, and squats are the manditory punishment for taking your time getting somewhere.
4. If we complain during practice, you run laps, shouting out the alma mater until you drop to your knees from exhaustion.
5. Goofing off calls for drill practice the whole time with your drums on.
6. Skipping practice calls for solo running, shouting the alma mater while attempting to play your part with your drums on (It's quite literally hell if you try it with tenors...)
7. For random reasons or for no reason at all just randomly force everyone to start running laps or doing push ups, sit ups and squats...
Some people are just too cruel, making us do this...Anyway, that's all I got. Tell me if it helps!

Our BD makes us do these "suicide laps" which is basically, around the football field, up -all- the bleachers, around to the other side, up those bleachers, and did I mention that you have to go down the bleachers too?

...i'm not talking about punishments, im talking about exercising and training to get ready for marching season. (You guizes BDs seem brutal. my sis is gunna be Drum major and has some insidious plans to torture us if we displease her twisted *she says "Indeed" )

Haha, we just had to do this thing where we had to do ten pushups whenever anyone dropped a stick, but it wasn't for that long. And we do things like, run a lap around the field, doing such and such number of push-ups at each corner. Stuff like that. We usually only have to do workouts for screwing u though, besides the basic stuff with the band.

The last two years my BD hired some a*****e from Clemson university to come be our drill sergeant basically. He made us do warm ups for three hours with no breaks once.
