Why not post a picture along with what it is in Japanese?
For Example:
User Image

Neko
ねこ
猫
(cat)

or you can post something that you want to know the name of and hope that someone will post a reply with the image and what it is in Japanese!

Like this:
これはなんですか？

easy right? I think this would be fun and helpful for vocabulary learning...

If this forum is successful, it could even act as a flashcard provider ontop of being a game forum.
