Im thinking of dying my hair red after spring break (mid april) because its like quality time with my mom (shes a crazy person for dying peoples hair)

I talked to my mom and she got excited when I told her about me dying my hair red (she use to dye hers more of a natural brown red when she was younger but now shes old XP).

Anyhoo, I am having trouble deciding on a tone of red. Mainly because of my skin tone.
I provided a recent picture I took of myself this week.
User Image
My skin tone is slightly darker than the image. Its just that the light bulb was above me and its one of those yellow-white lightbulbs, perfect for half asians like me XP

Votes for option 3~

I like the slightly more natural look it gives you, and i think it will be better with the bit less fading you'll deal with. (Red fades MASSIVLY quickly)

I agree with the two votes above me for 3, it's a nice tone that would look natural also

Three was the original color I was going for smile

I do know red fades fast, although theres this one girl in my class with hot pink hair and its been sorta pretty solid for white a while.. a bit over a month, i think. I wonder what she does...

vote for 3 as well :3

As for the pink, I have pink hair as well and to keep it from fading out, you leave the dye in for longer, and try to wash your hair as little as possible X3 Also, the more bleached your hair is, the longer the color should stay in ^_^

Yeah I kinda realized that in 8th grade when i had red highlights. It stays in longer if your hair is bleached. Also it faded away quickly because I was someone who HAD to wash my hair constantly.
So I ask this, how many times a week should i wash my hair?

All thoughout Highschool I was like those bleached asians XP So when I dyed it back to my nautral color to let my hair heal (and the fact i just wanted my hair back) people started to ask me, "Is that your natural hair color "
>.< Im like... uh... well considering that im half mexican and half filipino, yeah I SUPPOSE I have dark har!!!

XD
Ya' think they could tell...silly people.
I've never had someone ask me if pink was my real haircolor, but someone asked me if I was Japanese (blond hair&blue eyed white girl, but if you speak japanese you must be japanese right? XD )

Anywho, I would wash it only when I was ok with it fading alittle. I dont know what brand of hair dye you use, but I wash it every 2-3 weeks, but I can do that because of my hairtype :p

I think the second one actually matches your skin color better. 3nodding

Like almost everyone else, I like option 3 for you. -nod-

and... Jesus Christ, you're only half Asian!?
I'm jealous. I'm 100% and I don't look anything like you do- asian that is,
But I guess I shouldn't be so surprised.. the Philippines is the melting pot of asia- I shouldn't expect to look oriental.

Anyway, let's not get way off subject.
I know that dying your hair an unnatural color is difficult because it washes out quite easily. Especially if you use brands like Manic Panic. Bleaching, I think, makes the color linger a bit more, but you'd still end up with odd colors in a short amount of time.

This is the reason, beside it being the prettiest for your skin, why I chose option 3 for you. Since it is the most natural, you'll surely be able to find nicer dyes with this color what won't fade as easily as other brands.

I hope I helped a little :3

Well Im half filipino, thats my asian side ha ha ha if thats what people consider. I find it annoying when some say oh no im not ASIAN im PACIFIC ISLANDER. FYI there is no such thing as a continent called the pacific islands and if so, Japan would be considered as one. People are really stupid when they do such claims -_- but thats just me smile

Anyhooo I think its just how you take care of yourself. Ive seen some white people and latinos look more asian than others. Its really crazy!

But, I assume that 3 wont be as hard to maintain because its predominatntly a BROWNISH-red coor... I saw some of the more popular brands (for dying hair brown black and more natural colors) that had that particular red.
I think i might go for option 3 actually smile

thank you for your opinion
