Do you believe it is wrong for people to read/like fanfiction and write it?
I mean in the sense that I know people who think that's really gross (to read fanfiction).
People I personally know think someone is a big time pervert because they read fanfiction, however they don't think that when it comes to doujinshi.
Its like saying oh reading something is stupid, but looking at is better.
That doesn't make sense well to me it doesn't.
I personally like both; I have no problem with neither.
I myself write fanfiction and love to read it.
So do you believe it's wrong?
I mean either way Doujinshi or fanfiction it still involves out favorite ninjas right?
So then whats the difference I don't think there is.

O.o I've never heard anyone say reading fanfiction is gross. That's a new one on me, and I don't really understand it. What's so gross/wrong about it?

Now, I think it's gross for guys (and girls, if any girls do that) to sit down and wank off while they're reading porn. I can see that being gross and disgusting.

Or I can understand if it's a homophobe condemning yaoi...then again, wouldn't they also condemn yaoi doujinshi?

It depends. Even if it's all wrong and not according, exactly to the original work it's fan made isn't it? The creator won't even mind, because it's his fans work. He should be appreciate that this many people would write stories and draw for his characters. There's nothing wrong about fanfictions or doujinshi's.

And I won't really mind if someone comes and read yaoi or hentai it's what that person likes. I have nothing to do with that. But I guess I would feel a little unease because someone's reading hentai and yaoi....in public...o.O

I guess it also depeonds on how noticeable the porn is... I mean, for reading porn in public, if the cover is tasteful- like blank, with just a title, or the picture is something plain, like a fan or a flower or something like that, then no one would really notice....

However, if the doujinshi or whatever includes a graphic display of naked bodies/ private parts, that would draw more attention. And, of course, my wrongly wired brain just *had* to come up with the suggestion of someone reading noticeable porn whilst masturbating in public.

Yesh, it sounds crazy and outlandish...but, given the kinds of people that are out there in the world- and believe me, there are some *real* crazies- 'tis possible. And highly disturbing.

I dont think there is nothing wrong to like fanfiction or doujinshi

In Fanfiction, you read it and imagine everything in your head

In doujinshi, its more grafic in which it shows more details

Either way, we each have our own opinion and we can like w/e we want

Depends really. If you're open up about reading porn, than that's you. Some people think it's unmoral to read any type of porn.

I don't think it's bad at all. I can understand some people having something against really graphic sexual scenes in fanfiction, or people who read just for PWPs and smut... but I personally don't have any problem with it. We've all got our guilty pleasures, and some are... more commonly accepted than others. A perfect example is a friend I have whose life revolves around loli-con (lolita hentai)... and, I mean, he's still a perfectly decent person. It doesn't make him any worse than anyone else.

Mostly I think people act like they have a real problem with it because it's not considered publicly acceptable, or considered unmoral, or because it's just plain embarrassing sometimes.

As for fanfiction that isn't of a romantic nature... well, it's kind of like any other kind of fiction, really, so I see no serious issue with it. xd

Ah yes...that too. For fanfictions, some people just don't like how fangirls put themselves in the story or make everyone OC. I see nothing wrong with that...but it does get annoying. I mean, it IS imagination. And I think, the creators would be happy instead of upset how, some people are making their characters gay. Seriously, they have that many fans who's in love with the pairing, in their book. Who wouldn't be happy when they have that many fans?

Ohhhh, we're talking about Mary-Sues, here! xD

Well, I see no serious problem with that, either. Every writer has to start somewhere, and before they learn the ropes, often they'll write from on OC's point of view. When I look back at all my old stories, I shudder sometimes simply because that's the kind of fics I wrote. And the kinds of fics I read, no less.

And sometimes I get really irritated with all the OOC-ness and stuff because you have to wade through pages and pages of it just to find the good fics... but then I just remember where I first started, and it gives me a little more patience for those kinds of people and what they do.

As for the fandom thing... well, in this case, I'm sure that Kishimoto is happy with it. xD Or has at the very least accepted the fact that we're all going to take things differently.

Yes, very true.

But sometimes smut is good xd Once you get really bored with all of the exciting and suspenseful stories, I guess it really depends on our taste. I see nothing wrong with people writing two characters as gay or ooc. But it does get annoying when they whine like hell...

"I don't believe reading it or seeing it is wrong.
Although i wouldn't care what is wrong or what is not anyway.
I don't know.. Maybe it's a rebellious stage.
As long as it doesn't have sex in it, i don't believe it's wrong.
Although, then again, i wouldn't care either way."
